With Turner out for probably the rest of the season, It seems that Slade thinks we need another option as he made a serious enquiry about Huth. Well there was no joy there, he's went to Leicester and the window has closed on other options, but if we did need one............ As he terminated his contract yesterday and has become a free agent and would cost us nothing but reasonable wages, would this guy be an option for the rest of the season? Is he any better or worse than what we've got, or just a good backup if another one of our guys gets crocked? http://www1.skysports.com/football/...t-of-defender-roger-johnson-by-mutual-consent
Funny, I searched him on Wiki last week and saw he was still on Wolves books but not playing. I had a similar thought then. Not the player he was when with us or Birmingham, rumoured to like his "sherberts" a bit too much - like before training. Provided he wasn't greedy financially he could do a job for us if needed - and I'm still of the opinion that 3 cb's isn't enough at this stage of a difficult season - for the next 3 months or so. He knows the division and can certainly direct the back line. If nothing better around and we can afford him, I'd take him on. P.S. Are emergency loans still available for non-Prem clubs?
Yes. That would be another option but I'd prefer someone on the books trying to get a new contract for next season rather than someone coming in treating us as a shop window for himself. I seriously don't know what Gabbidon is doing at the club. Is he supposed to be coaching our CBs? If so, I'd sack him for being ineffective in his job.
Certainly agree with the last comment Sparks. Also our history of end of season emergency loans is not good. I always liked Jolly Rog and his no nonsense style of defending. Whether he can still operate like that is another matter. Not a ball player either, just lump it out of defence - row Z if needed. Would suit Slade's tactics then.
You could argue it's the same scenario for City. On the other hand, it could also be something to do with our manager........
