Apologies if this has been posted before, but with the take over news and the dire performance of the players yesterday I thought it a good time to (re) post it.

Hope you can open the file, copied from facebook, bit too long to copy the document.

Interesting read. I’ve said it for a few years now but the club (not just the team) have been mismanaged for decades. Yes there is the odd blip where we made small bits of progress, notably the two years under Reid where we finished 7th, but overall I think the tone of that document is right. We have over a long period of time become the football equivalent of Pontins.
I’ve actually got nothing tangible to back up anything of what I’ve said there other than my own point of view seeing the team I was brought up to support before any others slip further and further into the ****e.

Not so much a holiday camp more a retirement home for mediocre footballers. <laugh>

Very good read and its something I hope the new people are willing to take heed of. Its clear that successive regimes at Sunderland didnt want to know.

The piss taking party was supposed to already have been stopped - I guess that only applied to those on the playing staff and not the owners.......

I totally agree about the lack of stability with decisions being made seemingly on the hoof without it fitting into a broader pattern. Hope the new owners decide on a particular style of play and then find the right candidates to implement that style. Look at how different those managers are in their approach to the game and it's obvious the team will suffer a lack of coherence. I'd say this has been a failing of the club for years and has played a major part in where we've ended up. This is why the gossip that we're looking for a new sporting director gives me with a bit hope that we will get that clear direction implemented throughout the club.

This mirrors what DiCanio spoke of and the need to clear the decks and whole mindset of the club.
