I was bored at work the other day 7 so myself and A.N.Other started loking through the "Forbes 50 wealthiest people on the planet" list I was expecting to so Mittal in there or even they guy who owns Man City. Nope, not even a mention. So I ask, exactly how wealthy are we and does Mr Mitaal have what is claimed. Dont get me wrong, i know we do have some cash..but is it all media bull**t or was i looking at the wrong list. The usual suspects were in there including Gates & Gina Reinhart...but no sign of a Mittal anywhere... Stan, anyone ?
According to his Wikipedia page, he has dropped in the Forbes rich list. Is there really anything you can do with 20 billion that you can't do with 10 billion? Certainly a problem I could live with!
Agreed mate, but at one stage he was touted as the 5th richest man on the planet wasnt he.....? Now i know Harry has spent a lot of cash but surely not that much...??
Yeah thanks for that Did it drop enough to take him from No.5 on the planet to our of the top 50. Thats some serious drop !
Ok, and thanks for the slaphead, but I was being serious. Shame you can't see past previous rivalries, and answer accordingly.
Ok, not sure what you on about with the previous rivalries as i dont go on your board, but nevermind. Mittal has repeatedly been held up by the press and media as our backer in the background. Its pumped out to anyone stupid enough to believe the media that we are the richest club, have Mittal as our owner blah blah blah.... I was asking that IF this is the case & he does sit somewhere in the background, whats happened to al his wealth? And if he doesnt have it anymore, are we really as rich as the media make us out to be. Not sure how you read it or what you didnt understand from the OP that prompted your kurt reply Thats all........
If you look at our accounts (bit depressing I know) his loans to the club have been in direct proportion to his shareholding - 33% of loans from the owners. So Tony and the Malaysians are by far the biggest backers. The drop in steel prices plus the Chinese increasing their output have damaged his wealth. Mitral is not that interested in QPR or football in general, his investment is a plaything for his son in law. He spent £100m on his daughters wedding so I doubt the £60m or so he has loaned to the club keeps him awake at night. When push comes to shove I think the owners will either write off the debt and essentially give the club away (it's unsaleable with £170m of debt - more in the next accounts - and a pathetic income stream from the championship) or, if they stay, convert it to equity like the Leicester owners and hope for a little income stream from having a prem club in a new multi purpose stadium, plus cross brand marketing, getting their real return from the other property development around the stadium. This assumes they are here for the long term, which I think they are.
Seriously mate, this appears to have gone straight over your head. its a simple question based around the bull you and other supporters buy into...it aint rocket science FFS Cheers Stan, knew i could rely on you. So basically we have some cash but not as much as the media would have you believe or other idiot supporters believe. Like you say, its his son in laws toy. lets hope they dont get divorced then eh?
