So hopefully that dispels our "lucky" tag. No complaints with Tiote's red, but how did Larsson also not see red for his chest high kick at Shola with studs showing? Also Larsson's hand ball in the box is in the "seen them given" category.

I personally think we were worth the win as with 10 men for 65 minutes you only had 1 shot on target. Even O'Shea's header was going wide before it hit Demba and went in.

Congratulations on the late equaliser, we were ecstatic last season and you should be today and rightly so. I do however think you're devoid of any ideas going forward, even with 10 men we had the best chances (Demba's overhead after Colo's shot and Demba's 1 on 1). As a result you will struggle to score goals until Sess and Johnson begin to perform (did either of them even turn up today)?

I don't think we will be top five this season, not even close tbh. I see top 10 for us and you guys just below. In summary poor game ruined by Tiote's red (reckless challenge). If Tiote had stayed on I think we'd have won comfortably, anyway roll on the return game!

You've obviously never played football in your life if you think that was a red.

We were ****e, just like we have been all season. You are right with 11 men, I would have thought you went in to win comfortably. We offer nothing going forward and do not ever look like scoring. We can't question O'Neill though for fear of being shot down, although after being 2nd best in every game this season, it's clearly not working and he doesn't seem to have no plan B which is worrying.

Regarding the result, we dominated the 2nd half and although no end product, I think we got the goal our pressure deserved. 1-1 fair result, 11 men you would have pissed it.

In todays football (Tiote is my age so would not know any different anyway) it is a red. No arguments from Pardew and none from me.

EDIT: You mean Larsonn. He should have got a yellow.

Studs showing, chest high? How would it not be a red?

We leave with our heads high, you basically did nothing to warrant a draw. No chances I can remember, no creativity and it took an OG for you to equalise. If anyone got lucky here it was you.

Indeed, we did nothing, yet got a draw. You lot should have had that game sewn up.

Larsson tries to avoind kicking Shola and actually catches him with the knee, free kick but not intentional.

Yes, the handball - if you got it awarded against your team you would think it harsh, but I have seen them given on occasion.

It was a slip by one of our players that meant you got the ball from which you scored so there was an element of luck.

However, we were poor against a Newcastle side that I'm afraid to say is a step up above our team at the moment.

We need McBardo back and Gardener into Midfield, drop Jimmy, bring in Saha and play Sess behind the front two perhaps - we need to mix it up otherwise Boro will do us.

If anyone was lucky today it was Sunderland mate, 1 shot on target against 10 men for 65-70 minutes is laughable. You guys are a poor team playing poorly (3 wins in 20, worse than when Bruce was in charge). We are a slightly above average team also playing poorly, at least there is some hope for us.

All in all it was a sh*t game due to the red.

Watch It again lad, studs were not showing he was going for the ball! Although in today's game it may have been judged as being high which is ridiculous.

I have no doubt we would had we kept 11 on the pitch. Have you been playing that badly all season or was that a one off?

Shola is about 6 ft 4, Larsson hit him on his shoulder, I think that can be determined a high boot. The ref definately sided with you today. Hopefully we get similar bias in the return game later this season.
