The Coventry fans have emailed all the L1 clubs or at least their supporters clubs asking for them to boycott any games played at Northampton thus far it looks like there could be as few as 500 Coventry fans at Sixfields even if Coventry are allowed to even play there(due to potential legal action) this includes the 350 people who bought season tickets. Do you think other clubs should show solidarity with our friends in Coventry? For me the answer is yes even though I had pencilled in this as a match I was planning on going to.
I truly am gutted for Coventry fans, but i will be going to support city and hopefully see us get three points, plus i always do first away game in a new season.
Very much so. All the lads who normally run coaches and vans are not. Not an option this match for lads. No talk at all about going. We get the football and **** FA and all the rest in this country we deserve. Time more fans stood up for themselves.
Just read this thread. Thanks for the support Guys. I know to some of you, we're just another club from the Midlands, but as football fans, we have been shafted big time by our "glorious" owners. The lads on our forums have been informed of your show of support by not attending the game at North-bloody-Hampton. Thanks! PUSB!!
Some fans will still go as they say they are BCFC fans and follow our lads what ever but a large percentage of us won't those of us of a certain age remember a game at Highfield Road that ended 2-2 which kept us both in the top flight some years back, I still don't know what happened that night I was out with some mates with a load of Coventry fans getting hammered and next morning woke up on a Cov fans sofa even the Coventry Police were great helping us find where we had left the van because we'd got too bladdered to remember.
This is a difficult season for all concerned..... US for being in Division1...... And Coventry with all their ails..... We need to look at the bigger picture. At the moment the situation is bad for Coventry and us staying away I do not think will help it, in fact we could be shooting ourselves in the foot as in a few weeks time it is all resolved and the first couple of "home" games Coventry manage to pick up points because the lack of opposition fans were not there to cheer on their team! Remember every time we draw the third game we have effectively lost 2games that's 6 points. I have every bit of empathy for the Coventry fans in their present predicament, but sorry, not going will not help us, imagine if we lose or draw and miss the play off,s by a point. ( of course either way we will not know how the game could have finished going or not) I wish Coventry City all the best, and hope their massive band of loyal supporters will soon be rewarded with tranquillity and a steady ship but boycotting the game, sorry for the away teams it shouldn't be an option...
Breaking a tradition of years of attending first away game. Made easier also by sixfelds being a bit of **** away day. Every £ they don't get is a reason to think again. Best of luck CCFC fans.
I am truly gutted for your fans, however our boys need all the support they can get and three points could be the difference between promotion or not. I was at Highfield Rod that night and have a good deal of respect for Cov fans but city is my team.
