Are we going to play the rest of the season without a striker? Last season, we rose from fifth to second playing only ten men carrying an embarrassing Torres. This season, his link up play is good, but he is too scared to get into the box. He plays deeper than Eidur did under Jose! But Eidur scored occasionally. FT not only is not scoring; he does not look likely to score, let alone go on a scoring run! And FT is no Messi, even though he seems to be playing the false no 9 role. Thoughts fellow Blues?
Thoughts - your a ****ing prick who needs to get some glasses. How can he score reguarly when his had 1 shot in 3 games and our midfields got less creativity than a ****ing 6 year olds school team. What is your actual problem with Torres Londonsfinest? He hasn't done anything wrong yet you continue to shoot him down, **** off and go support liverpool u ****
Take away 3 of our recent signings - Luiz, Mata and Torres and we'd actually be in a relegation place right now, the whole team is dire at the moment apart from these 3 plus Terry and Rambo, and occasionally Sturridge
He may well need service, but the rare chance on goal he does get ends up wide or off the woodwork. Missed a few sitters.
We're in a lose-lose situation, We either keep Torres when his never going to score reguarly in reality at the moment or we let him go at the end of the season and watch him bang the goals in elsewhere
The service to Torres is shocking... He is one of the only positive players we have going forward, but he either is getting rubbish passes, or when he finds a good position other players ignore him to go for glory themselves... *Sturridge*. Terry... Ramires... Mata and Torres are the only people who look like they want to play for this team. My biggest worry is our negative subs... We are often chasing a game, and it seems like at 75/80 mins AVB is happy to play for a draw and brings people on who won't make an impact on the game.
Specific players aside, I made a comment on my Chit Chat board while watching the Swansea match that we seemed to be playing a 4 6 0 formation. Time and again I saw nine Swansea players back in their half defending while we had the ball, four defenders in a line just before the halfway line and sandwiched between two banks of defenders a flatish line of six Chelsea attackers, passing the ball between themselves sideways trying edge forwards till they reached the area, then someone would try and get to the line in the corner and cross. We did this time and time again. Occassionally someone would try and run into the box with the ball, usually Torres. Occassionally someone would get frustrated and shoot from outside the area. It was like we were playing on railway tracks.
I'm very sure. Luiz has improved out of sight recently. MOTM against Canaries in my book. And 10 out of 10 for passion ,effort and energy. Wish we had 7 more like him +Mata, Ramires, Torres and Terry.
Pretty much spot on. Very little pace, no one can seem to beat a man and no one playing in 'the hole' causing mayhem. Very very predictable to watch and defend against.
Best player against Swansea as well, especially 2nd half. Lead from the back and at least tried to be a bit forward thinking. Would rather him left wing than Malouda ATM. Fact.
No, they haven't. What's the point in him running into space without getting the service? Failed or late passes are getting him caught offside and making him look like a mug so he's kind of given up and withdrawn to somewhere he can actually get his foot on the ball. Once he's there, where's he got to run to ?
