Ok just a view not meant in a negative way more just looking for peoples opinions of the last couple of months. 1. Did we majorly over perform in the first 18 or so games of the season? 2. Are we now underperforming or is this our normal level of performance? 3. Does the fact we are still 2nd with such a bad run in the last 9 games give fans hope that if we finish like we started we can still win this league. 4. Are NA and NC out of there depth when it comes to making signings or is it just NC trying to haggle to much and this tactic poss back firing? 5. Do we rely to heavily on Lambert and Lallana. And finally i couldn't get to the game last night but i got to say i was a tad embarrased by the fans that were there, booing the players off at half time was shameful.
1. No 2. Yes and No 3. Yes!! 4. No 5 No People who pay their money are entitled to protest. Leicester made us look bad but as I've said elsewhere this was just one game.
1 a little bit, but we need to step it up in the second half of the season and I'm hopeful we will 2 definitely under performing right now 3 yes 4 we'll see, come the end of the window and come the end of the season, how successful their transfer policy has been 5 yes
My feeling is that we are a top six side (and remember that can include first and second) and we performed at our peak at the beginning of the season. We played with confidence and showed esprit de corps, but have now had a reality check and have to show what we're made of (players and fans). Where we failed was not building on our great start by getting points off the lower sides, because that would have given us a buffer for the tough times. We now have to show our credentials by knuckling down in the hard games to come. Don't blame Adkins for failure to sign players. He's obviously indicated who he wants, but for various reasons we've failed to get them. We don't seem to get beaten to them...it's more that they are not for sale. With the window about to close and injuries piling up, it may be time to offer over the odds. The 1.5 million for Sharp (reported by The Mirror) will be regarded as derisory.
I agree with the last bit. We booed them to let them know they were not good enough, but obviously they didn't listen.
Overperform? Quite possibly. Majorly? Probably not. Still believe that we're somewhere between the second and fourth-best team in the league, all considered. Underperforming. I didn't think that we were likely to win the league even when we were at the top of the table. Second, however, I think that we can certainly still accomplish. Cardiff and Birmingham look the real threats to run off an extended stretch of good form; the former has an upcoming schedule no less difficult than our own, while Birmingham's ability to challenge for second could be determined in part by their ambition in the transfer window...Jean Beausejour is reportedly on his way to Wigan, and they are not exactly a deep team to begin with, so a rash of injuries as we've experienced could sink them. Cautiously optimistic, but that could change (for better or worse) after the games against those two sides. In the span of a week, we could create some real distance between ourselves and two of our biggest challengers...or we could give them the lift they need to overtake us. Huge, huge games. Silly. You don't take a team from League 1 to the upper reaches of the Championship table for any length of time while being out of one's depth. Quite possible. However, both are among the very best players in the Championship...to have a squad that could continue on seamlessly without both of them (and the many other first team players either out or are less than full strength) would require something indeed. The booing didn't bother me. The degree to which the fans seemed to go silent after the first goal did.
1. Did we majorly over perform in the first 18 or so games of the season? We definetely overperformed imo as we were expected to finish mid-table ish. 2. Are we now underperforming or is this our normal level of performance? Yes, even if we weren't near the top that performance was shocking. 3. Does the fact we are still 2nd with such a bad run in the last 9 games give fans hope that if we finish like we started we can still win this league. We won't win the League. Play offs I reckon, other teams have sussed out how we play and stop us playing our football. 4. Are NA and NC out of there depth when it comes to making signings or is it just NC trying to haggle to much and this tactic poss back firing? I think NC drives a hard bargain which puts players/clubs off from accepting/joining. HE will have to spend money at some point. 5. Do we rely to heavily on Lambert and Lallana. Yes, without them our attack is ****e.
1. Did we majorly over perform in the first 18 or so games of the season? Is there such a thing as overperforming? There are various reasons why we haven't kept it up, but we've set ourselves a benchmark. 2. Are we now underperforming or is this our normal level of performance? We are underperforming right now for various reasons, most of them out of Nigel's hands. 3. Does the fact we are still 2nd with such a bad run in the last 9 games give fans hope that if we finish like we started we can still win this league. Yes, we can still win the league. Important players will come back and West Ham will drop points. 4. Are NA and NC out of there depth when it comes to making signings or is it just NC trying to haggle to much and this tactic poss back firing? Big signings are complicated for any team. We'll see what happens between now and the end of the window. 5. Do we rely to heavily on Lambert and Lallana. No more than anyone else would if they had them in their team. Both are quality players who add a great deal to the way we like to play.
Lallana and lambert are all we have in terms of attaking. all the cm's are defensive minded. Guly is hit and miss. Barnard, well what's going on there and connolly is too old.
