After a slow start is the real Leicester beginning to shine through the fog? All of the reports that I have read seem to point out that we are heading in the right direction, especially after the last game. I can't say for certain myself not being able to watch them play at all this season (Due to being stuck in flippin Afghan) however the signs seem to be encouraging. What do you fine fellows think?
Certainly the last 2 home game and the away game at forest have shown that confidence is improving. We are competing a lot more and pressurising other teams defences when they have the ball and it is paying dividends. Long way to go though
We just need some consistency. The Brighton game was our best performance to date and tbh our only impressive 90 minutes. I think we should wait for the next 3-5 league games, only then will we know whether we are getting it right, they are tough games but we should be getting results against all-comers if we are to be promoted - the likes of Cardiff, Boro and Derby shouldn't scare us. It's all very well playing well and winning short term but we want to see those kind of performances every week. Hopefully, we will carry on from where we left off on Saturday.
England - The most successful England Manager since '66. With the same players, Wally with the Brolly couldn't even qualify for Euro 2008. Man City - Never got the chance to shine, was replaced after a good season. It's what happens with new owners Notts County - wasn't manager!! Ivory Coast & Mexico- both were short term deals. IC deal was to coach them through 2010 WC. Leicester - we will see, but there won't be any tears. Liverpool and King Kenny - He's not gonna walk away again if the going gets tough is he? If thats the case, they'll be plenty of tears on the red side of the Mersey
Ha ha ha Liverpool fan probably not even from Merseyside - "You're not famous anymore, you're not famous, you're not famous, your'e not famous anymore"
You could say that about most managers. At least he takes jobs where success is far from certain ie a challenge. Not just Chelsea, Milan, Barca etc like some managers I could name. And adding to Lanky's post, I would also say that Sven was the victim of a scam at County, a revolt fuelled by racism with Mexico, and bad luck with Ivory Coast, drawn in the same group as Brazil and Portugal. In fact, I would have been amazed if he did win anything under those circumstances. Oh and by the way, if you're gonna put Notts C on the list, they did win the League Two trophy during the season he was with them.
Who gives a ****? How many trophies has Rodgers had? In fact what had he done at all before last season? Paul Lambert? Martin O'Neill? ....?
This is what everyone says now when a club spends a lot of money. I remember saying this about Chelsea about eight years ago. Still going strong. I said the same about Man City. No end to the spending yet. Face it, we've got money now and soon, whether it's this season, next season or the year after, we'll be leaving the Championship behind... indefinitely. Regarding Eriksson, he's been here nearly a year now and I'm happy with what he's achieved. A year is pretty good time to judge, so it would have to go disastrously wrong for it to "end in tears". And I mean relegation - which I'd happy put my house on not happening!
The fact that we have had "fans" of Premiership clubs come onto our board and have something to say about a (current) Championship club just goes to show how far LCFC have come in the last 12 months. This is new ground for us Foxes. It used to be just think about the season ahead. Now it's thinking 3-5 years plus down the line. Getting promoted under O'Neill, no fan in there right mind thought we were going to stay up, but look what we achieved. Did Norwich think they were within a chance of reaching the Premiership last season this time last year? What our owners have done has given LCFC a platform to build on to make this club reach the heights of the top league. Unfortunately that is creating jealousy among other fans, but to get posts from fans from clubs a league above us must mean we're hitting the right notes.
Don't be pathetic Emilio. I wasn't wumming. With the amount of cash Leicester are spending I reckon you could get them into the Premiership. You don't need to be giving Sven mega bucks to do it.
What you're over-looking is the marketability of Sven himself, particularly abroad. He is know round the world for his successes and high profile positions held and will help to draw interest to Leicester overseas, particularly in Asia. We have Yuki Abe for similar reasons. Any money lost on additional wages for Sven will be made up on game sales and merchandise abroad. Our owners are not dummies and know the Asian market, and are looking to create a large fan base over there. Trust me, they don't intend to waste money, but if you'd really like to give the multi-millionaire businessmen a bit of financial advise, I'm sure they'd appreciate it.
