With the exception of Garrido who everybody knew we were going to retain anyway we have yet to sign a player this window. I understand why, say in the case of Toivonen (the only player we have definitively shown interest in) but supposedly we are trying to sign 5-6 players and yet we have hardly had any activity in the transfer marker whatsoever.

We must know the players we want and lots of other clubs have been very busy already. I don't see why we wouldn't move to wrap up the players we want as soon as possible!

Oh well, I suppose I am just being impatient in a boring football-less summer...

It's a little boring right now, but we need to remain patient.

From the top of my head, only Villa, Fulham, Man City and Liverpool have signed more than one player. So the majority of clubs are in the same boat as us.

Would far prefer us to sign players early and get a full pre-season under their belts

How do we know what's going on? We can't just demand this or that player join us. How do we know the club hasn't secured the services of a couple of players but just want to wait until they announce it? There is still plenty of time.

    Sunderland have bagged a few.

To be fair most of these teams would of been seen to under perform last season, and needed major improvement.
Whilst we need improvement too, it is not a major refit job so maybe not as easy to find the right targets.

as thurnby points out, it's about signing wisely. pre season hasn't even started yet, so why the concern? the window isn't open either!

surely it is better to buy the RIGHT players at a later date than the wrong players NOW. equally it is better to pay the RIGHT amount for players later on rather than pay over the odds at this time. we are NOT rolling in money (despite what some fans think) and are still shopping on a very limited budget. the wheels will have been set in motion long ago with regards potential transfers. just because YOU don't find out about them doesn't mean nothing is happening, just be patient! this really is the worst time of year because some fans have literally no patience whatsoever and need something, anything, to talk about. what a ridiculous life to lead.

Since the transfer window is not yet open, surely no club has actually signed any players. They may have reached agreement with the other club and the player, and all parties have presumably agreed to going public on it. RvW is not yet a Norwich City player; he cannot sign and be registered until the window opens on July 1st. Since we are likely to be in for players for whom there is competition (e.g. Hooper), their clubs and the players themselves may well not be prepared to commit to a deal early on. The only sure way of doing it would be to offer a deal that neither club nor player would refuse, but apart from Chelski, Man City and QPR, who wants to do that? <ok>
