Thoughts and opinions on the window and are we finished as its all gone quiet? Could this mean things are 'being done behind closed doors' ?
I think we'll see one more signing before the transfer window closes. Rodgers has hinted in recent weeks about one or two players coming in and since then, we've seen Assaidi come in. Hopefully that means one more coming through the doors. And I hope the transfer business is being done behind closed doors. Could get another surprise signing like Assaidi!
rodgers said 3/4.. i think personally we've misse dout on some targets but one more might come in but we will prob sell more than that.
Hopefully there is one or two more before the close of the window. I would be very disappointed if there wasn't.
A few journalists (including Tony Barrett and Oliver Kay from the Times) believe we'll be getting two more signings. Anymore will have to be funded through player sales.
Brendan has said squad is nowhere near big enough, hopefully owners know this and he is given money to spend on players and we offer decent wages if needed. hope that means no sell to buy crap as well, still having nightmares from Alonso going because of that stupidity.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19353061 I could be wrong (And hope BR is playing the media with this) BUT, I take from this that we aren't in to buy a striker. If this is the case, why is it that everyone outside of the club can see the blazingly obvious fact that we need a out and out scorer yet no one within the club appear to be looking at the same issue?! I'm baffled!
You desperately need a player that can put the ball between the posts.... Will you keep Carrol on the bench for another season just to spite Newcastle? who knows lol Can you afford to be spending £80k a week on a squad player??
I'm pretty sure we can't but any more without selling. However, I don't think Agger is part of that equation. Carroll and Adam are.
I guess Rodgers has full confidence in his style Ie false 9's instead of an out and our striker where there is a reliance on inside forwards to score goals and the CF drops deeper (Suarez for us/Messi for Barca) and dictates tempo. Constant movement and midfield expected to score too (explains strong link to Dempsey) risky strategy not looking for an out and out finisher if you ask me
If we are to believe what the papers are saying, Man City had a £30m bid for David Luiz turn down by Chelsea. As an Newcastle fan it puts me on edge as that kind of offer would tempt Mike Ashley to part with Coloccini. Worried city might fancy Agger??
not really, not sure it would be in the owners interest to force a player as an offer was too good to refuse, when the player doesn't even want to leave or the manager wants let him go. we get rid of Agger and we have no chance of replacing that quality and top4 gets further and further away, yes he is injury prone, but for where we are at, we need him more than the ruddy cash to strengthen in other areas.
http://www.football-lineups.com/team/Barcelona/La_Liga_2012-2013/Campaign/ Barca's last game, messi as false 9/CF, as Suarez has been for us.
Its a media myth that Messi scores goals, they just keep moving the goal posts for him so that he looks better than he is
