YouGov reveals unknown habits of Bristol Rovers and City fans.

Do Bristol City fans all love playing board games, wearing Nike, and reading The Times?

    That’s what the stats say.

Likewise, Rovers fans apparently play chess, own a dog, and drive a Citroen.

A new web app was launched by YouGov, the market researchers, that allows users to view target audience profiles of companies.

The Profiler tool, based on data collected from 190,000 UK YouGov members, compares the likes and dislikes of all those people. You can compare everything from the favourite food of Made in Chelsea viewers, to the shopping habits of X Factor fans.

Here’s our run-down of the so-called “quintessential” traits of Bristol’s City and Rovers fans. Do you see yourself reflected in these lists?

    BRISTOL CITY FC

City fans adore UEFA, cricket, and bizarrely... boulangere potatoes.

    •WATCHES TV FOR: 36-40 hours a week

    BRISTOL ROVERS FC:

Rovers fans don't watch much TV, but when they do, they've apparently got slightly out-there tastes, with Gavin and Stacey featuring heavily.

    •AGE: 40-59
    •WORK: Military, engineering, accounting
    •INTERESTS: Computers, news, cycling
•DESCRIBES THEMSELVES AS: Patient, inventive, agreeable
    •MOST LIKELY PET: Dog

That's hilarious! Let's see if it's even remotely accurate for me...

    Code:
    AGE: 25-39 - Correct!
WORK: Sports, Civil Service, charity - Not even close...
INTERESTS: Board games, TV, holidays - TV is definitely up there, but I couldn't think of anything worse than playing a board game without alcohol involved.
DESCRIBES THEMSELVES AS: Good company, interesting, easy-going - Again, not even close...
MOST LIKELY PET: Fish - lol
SHOPS AT: Lidl - I do love a bit of Lidl, but you can't do a full shop there. I'm an Asda man.
BRANDS: Mercedes, UEFA, Asda petrol, Lexus, Range Rover - Asda petrol? Is there a difference?
MOST LIKELY CAR: Vauxhall - lol again
FAVOURITE TV SHOWS: The Football League Show, 24, Futurama - Futurama is the tits, but not fussed about the rest
    ONLINE FOR: 6-10 hours a week - 6-10 hours a day perhaps!
WATCHES TV FOR: 36-40 hours a week - Nope, nowhere near.
NEWSPAPER: The Times - One final lol to round it off

I wouldn't call myself the average football fan, but I doubt even the average Bristol City fan meets this description.

If this is the standard of their output I would not put any business yougov's way

Why have they chosen a name that makes them sound like a Government Department?
