I have a feeling that this is rock bottom. I honestly can't see things getting any worse now so am looking upwards and forwards. Tis time to support the team do our bit.
I don't think we are. I honestly think we will get relegated and the players we have who are basically being passengers will leave. Which will be good. But we will end up with a very average side with no solid performers. McLaren will stay on. And we will watch the same drab **** next season. X
If you think this is rock bottom then what do you equate getting relegated to.............................................doh!
No this is not rock bottom, l think there is worse to come. More disappointments, more turgid displays, more incompetence, more abject apathy, more cowardice and ultimately mass betrayal and exodus. Then to top it all off, we are relegated, we lose all the players and staff we would want to see stay (not many l grant you, but there are definitely some) What we won't lose sadly is Ashley and his clueless cronies. We could face years in the wilderness and not even have the compensation of seeing Ashley and SD eradicated from SJP forever , now that my friend is rock bottom.
Best not to think of things like this. I mean, for me, we hit rock bottom some time ago. Arguably the first relegation was rock bottom - we've never really recovered apart from a miraculous 5th place finish. We've had a succession of absolute bottom feeders crawling over the club, have suffered the worst runs/results/football in the clubs history and all under the mis-guidance of the most loathsome creatures to ever sit themselves at the head of the table. Ashley, Wise, Charnley, Llambias, Kinnear - I mean, you'd struggle to deliberately pick worse. I'm half expecting the next owner to be an Asian investor by the name of Kim Jong Un. I'm half serious - I think the club's for sale, but Ashley's struggling to find the next Thaksin Shinawatra, as there's no way he's selling the club to someone who'll do a decent job. It'd look bad on him for a start, the fat fcking mug. I digress..... Thing is we're pretty low right now, but have been lower and will probably get lower on Saturday and beyond as GLIF says above. It's a case of levels of sh!t at the Toon, so whilst it's abysmal right now saying it's the "lowest" is entirely subjective and probably not accurate.
We're still miles better than those dark days of the early 80's, though I suspect we're about to give them a run for their money.
What's the "early 80's"? You mean Miner's strikes? Thatcher? Cold War? Jane Fonda Workout? Yep, dark days. Either way, Football wasn't invented until 1992. Hence why relegation from Football to sub-human kick-round is baaaad.
You mean Bill McGarry was just a bad dream??? I've been carrying those scars for years for no reason!!!
I see Janmaat was in a heated discussion with the away fans last night. We are losing the plot on the pitch. I'm glad he cares personally, several others don't seem to (yes you Sissoko). They were getting some almighty stick as they departed from our travelling support. When they turn you know you are letting the club down. They just blindly stay happy and cheer through the ugliest of situs
Rock bottom is subjective - for me, it means staying in t Early 80's were a godsend compared to the late 70's.
I have blanked the entire period from Gordon Lee selling Supermac to us blowing a massive lead at the top of Division Two completely from my memory!!!
Testing times, but, the club eventually recovered. Sometimes, you have go through the difficult times to reap the benefit.
