Morning all, Not posted on here much so thought I would as sat at work till 8am - Bummer I have never seen fans of Leeds bitch and moan and try to get others ignored before... Surely we should all be pulling the same way and asking questions of the club, Manager and Board. Not turning on each other. Its all about opinions!!! However if they are complete wums ban em but not if they have a different opinion. I think this season will be tough as hell for us and my heart says we can make top 6 even top 2 but my head says otherwise. We will have to seriously invest and also have some luck which has escaped our great club for sometime to do anything this season. I think unfortunately SG has made a rod for his own back by doing so well at the start of the season, anyone remember the 20 game plus unbeaten run? I know there were too many draws from winning postitons but I never dreamed we would do so well in the first season back. We are a great club but gone are the days we should expect the top flight or Europe... Money talks Bates does not and until we have a Board willing to back there Manager we are going to be mid Championship at best. I was nieve to believe he was our saviour at a time when we were fed to the dogs by the FA... I really thought he would want to leave a legacy.. Have a last hoorah in football and with Leeds he had a one City club a giant club with the best support in the country a young hungry Manager and it all to play for... How stupid do i feel now? I'm not normally mugged off but Bates knew we were beyond desperate and used that. What I can't understand and please fill me in if i'm being slow: How come no Sheikh or Russian Gangster has come in to buy us out, if we are as led to believe have little debt. There is also noway if someone came in with a good price Bates would not accept it and feck off back to Monaco... I want to back Grayson but he is not the Manager I thought he would be.. He needs to stand up and be counted and not be a puppett. Roll on 2011.... MOT
Hi Ken, I think we are passionate about our team and comes out sometimes when certain individuals critisise our team. If it was constructive thats would be great, but more than most it isn't. As for the team, we have some class players but, not a strong spine to the team at the moment. My father told me when i was young, what ever team event you need a strong spine. So a strong commanding Keeper,defender, midfielder and striker. In my opininon we have only Becchio up front and possibly Kissnobo if fit, that is a worry for me at the moment. Who knows we may get a few great signings soon, lets hope so.
I'm going to say this in here again because it's relevant to your post and Donald moved it. Grayson didn't do well at the start of the season. We lost the opening game, suffered humilitaing defeats to Barnsley and Preston, and were as low as 16th at one stage.
Every team suffers defeats humiliating hurts more for sure and the preston and Barnsley games where the worst..... But we were not 16th for long and we finished 7th and we did the double over QPR and beat some of the top teams... So i could say we had some amazing results and at one stage....the final stage we were 7th..... as well as 4th and 5th and 6th
we were second for a few games, we were 16th after about 4 games and for maybe 1 game, hardly counts does it, overall it was a successful season
7th place was a very good finish for us, especially as we would have got destroyed in the play offs IMO I thought we would be lucky to finish 15th at the start of the season but the lads really stepped up. Lets hope we can better it this season, but we need to stenghen if we are going to stand a chance at at least hitting the play offs. Leicester will be the ones to watch this term.
