I know that Spurs are red hot on signing Vertonghen, and M'Vila's agents are touting him all over Europe, does this mean that all the hype was meaningless, hope not

Think we will get M'vila. It may take a while though...
Not sure at all about Vertonghen.
I'm more concerned that we sign RVP back on, which I think will take place after the Euros. The length of his contract will be determined by the number of new players we sign, I think. Just a thought.

Ii think M'vila is done but vetonghen deal is now dead. Looks like we are going for yang M'biwa who is similar to kos it seems and has even been acquainted with him.

Id be very dissapointed if we missed out on M'Vila. Vert could have been a good signing but i think we need players in other places before him though.

Still think we need around 3 more players and keep RVP of course.

GK - Gordon, Sorensen or Jussi
    DM - M'Vila
    AM - Kagawa or Gourcuff.

    Arrgghh.

    More dross!

Wenger has lost the plot if he's looking at any of those. (M'Villa excepted)

If you think any of those signings would improve our chances of winning anything then calling me an idiot is like calling the pot black.

Those keepers are relegation club fodder.

Gourcuff is just more French dross.

Care to name some better 2nd choice keepers in the Premiership than those suggested?

IFAIK we were never interested in Vertonghen. Never. The guy was flirting with Arsenal, even went to see a game at the Emirates, but Arsenal have never made any moves or shown any public interest. I think Wenger just does not even think about another defender. By his current standards we have more than enough already. I think Squllaci will go and will not be replaced.

As for M'Vila - I think Wenger would love to get him... for £12 ml. Problem is - he never ever splashes the cash, never mind big cash, if there is no glaring problem. He does not buy a player because there is a good player on sale. I do not know why fans are so agitated about M'Vila - Wenger has Song, Coquelin, Arteta, Wilshere and Frimpong ( this is 5 players!) who all can play deep, so it would be soooo uncharacteristic if Arsene decides to buy another DM.

I would rather think he will buy a playmaker - Gourkoff at best or most possibly somebody unknown with a prospect to replace Rosicky in the future.
The history showed us that Wenger never actually buys players we were "heavily linked with" in the summer.

As a Sunderland fan, I can tell you that a fit Gordon is up there with the best in the league.

He's never fit mind, hence why he was released...

Reina (as No.1 not as 2nd choice) Chesney would become second choice.

    Green

    Given

how many more would you like?

If we were to sign M'Vila, it gives us a huge upgrade at DM. Song is not a CDM, he's a box to box midfielder, and Coquelin and Frimpong aren't ready yet. A proper DM makes the defence stronger immediately.

Given wouldn't accept a number 2 role, and Green is crap, Gordon is better than him.

Mate, he's everything we need, he has vision, pace etc. He's a better Nasri.

Given would come to us in a moment at his age even as number 2.

Other clubs don't seem to share your view of Green as he is in demand at the mo'.
