Barry Mackay signing from Nottingham Forest for £500k? Shopping in Lidl’s, where we at our level take a taxi to Harrods! TAXI!!!
They will need a strong hand on the tiller of finance. Much depends on how they manage to match outgoings with income. A tough ask if they have to carry Bony doing nothing and costing what he is said to earn. They are selling at some profit though it seems....so they may get help from this. Wonder how the crowds will fare.
All clubs have plastics and Swansea are no different. Full houses last season meant only around 21K max so it should be sustainable given the number they reckon they had waiting for ST's. A good start to the season will be essential - if they get away to a poor or even just an indifferent one, the gates will tumble. We've seen it ourselves and it doesn't make pleasant reading in the press let alone during the matchday experience for those who do attend. Given the recent past history, I wonder how many ST's they've actually sold for next season so far - any Jacks out there that know?
I’d be surprised if they get more than 15k tops turning up as the season progresses; more like 10-11k for a Tuesday night fixture v Wigan. They’ll also have to get used to virtually empty away sections for some teams. Not Leeds of course who’ll take their usual 10,000
In 2010 when the Jacks finished 7th their average league attendance was 15,407. In 2011 - their promotion year their average league attendance was 15,507 By comparison, City's average attendances for the same year 2010 - position 4th - 20,717 2011 - position 4th - 23,194 In 2018 - our promotion year average attendance was 20,164 So, lets say the Jacks have a good season I would suggest their average attendance would be around 14,255 Lots of interesting stats here; http://european-football-statistics.co.uk/attnclub/carc.htm http://european-football-statistics.co.uk/attnclub/swac.htm
Talking to this JB up the golf club he’s looking forward to this season as he was fed up of watching his team getting battered by the big clubs and struggling v the others. He looks forward to seeing more competitive and more enjoyable games. Fair point
I can see his point but hard to know what's the best, a few years picking up mega $ or a top 6 in the Championship for a few years. I think I'll take the megabucks
For me a good season would be us finishing around mid-table with our youngsters and newbies showing their potential as they grow in experience, gel as a team, gain confidence, express themselves and enjoy playing for the shirt. The important thing imo is for the squad not be ripped up next summer to turn a quick $ or two on some of this seasons signings. Who knows, if this happens then we could push for the play-offs next season. It all kicks off for us in 20 minutes and for the first time in years I'm looking forward to the season and feeling optimistic, not that we'll get promotion but that we'll get our mojo back and start to enjoy our football again. Good luck to you guys, when the dust settles I reckon you'll find yourselves looking forward to a second year in the prem, but don't ever forget, my team is better than yours
First game over and sitting 5th in the table, looks like Potter wants a positive start, mind the Blades fielded a team of telly tubbies!............ Club sold 15,000 season tickets before we started our slide back into the drop zone last season, so I think attendances will be around the 17,000 this season, if the team does well and plays good football, could be a full house..........
Great to get an away win early doors but you need to make your stadium a fortress, dropped home points will come back and bite your arse.
Now now pal, take five Who is John Hughs pal? Did you get out out of bed the wrong side pal...would you like to suck on my titty?
I must say masky is the best this forum has 2 offer and unlike yourself he would be missed if he went missing like you did.
