After yesterdays announced redundancies and the admission by Birch that the financial position is more dire than was thought, can Pompey recover and stay in business?
How could the position of Pompey be more dire than thought. Everyman and his dog knew they were hanging by a thread. What is needed is a miracle and getting the large debts reduced or written off, so that a buyer becomes interested.
Maybe they should merge with Rangers. It's the same kit after all. Any prospective buyer would get 2 clubs for the price of 1.
The tumour on football that is PFC is being beaten by a dose of chemotherapy, Trevor Birch is the surgeon cutting the cancer out of football... he's doing the right thing.
Birch reckons they may not make it to the end of the season: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17137954
If they go out of business before the end of the season, they should have the dignity to do it before we thrash them 6 nil or we will be thoroughly...mmm..pis...mmm...irritated.
by the time we play them on april 7th, they might not be able to field a full team atm they got 14 players, all they need is couple of injurys. On a lighter note, question!!! For portsmouth game can i have a plus one on my season ticket?
Yes Andover, there is a window for STH to purchase 1 extra ticket, as long as you are buying for Doncaster as well.
Couple of Portsmouth fans on Facebook complaining the FL let the loan for Huseklepp go through so only 12 players would be available - claiming "Apparently some rules don't apply to Portsmouth." Yeah, evidently a number of financial rules don't.
I can't really understand why season ticket holders are being allowed to purchase an extra ticket for the Pompey game when they already have a ticket. I guess they'll come out and say well it let's me buy one for my mate which doesn't really hold up. If their mate wants a ticket then they could go and buy one for themself if they were put straight on sale to people on the database rather than giving season ticket holders first dibs.
Agreed mate, think it's a good idea about the Doncaster game, but I don't really think STH's should get an extra ticket. After them, plus the final 10 people, there won't be any left for general sale I fear.
Should just have linked it to the Doncaster game, then everyone would have equal chance. However, I suppose the club also feel that they should encourage purchases of STs by giving them advantages or perhaps it's a security issue. ST holders have more to lose so may be better behaved perhaps.
