Hard to say after Matchday 2, but was Chelsea's remontada in Madrid the start of a potential power shift back to England?

Or was it an isolated win against a major Champions League power?

Would any other English club have had the mental fortitude to come back against the most miserly defence in Europe (16 clean sheets in 19) and dominate Atletico on their own patch?

Is this a one off.... or can the likes of Spurs, United and City follow suit... go to homes of other major CL powers and outplay them too?

Chelsea leading the way for English clubs in Europe as usual :)

Whilst I agree with your sentiment, I love the way you have worded this post. <laugh>

I think English clubs, so far, are looking the business in Europe (Merseyside not withstanding).
I think ourselves, United and City, as well as all being potential PL winners, are also all potential CL winners.

It be Real Madrid(there bad start to la liga is because of Ronaldo being suspended) and PSG. English clubs should all at least get out of there groups, maybe even Celtic my going how **** Bayern looked against PSG.

Very encouraging start by the British clubs (have to include Celtic after last night's impressive result in Belgium) but it wouldn't do to get too carried away.

We ran Atletico close in the knock out stage last season and were robbed by a dodgy pen of a draw at theirs despite having a squad nowhere near as good as Chelsea's.

Fair to say that United were somewhat humbled by Real Madrid (albeit in a pre-season friendly) and PSG's thumping of Bayern sounded out a statement of real intent.. and might be more indicative of a real power switch...

There are much sterner tests to come ... but you can't really argue with the results so far. <ok>

I guess Barca, Real, Atletico, Bayern, PSG all a level above. But maybe we can get a side in the semis this year

Bayern were hardly bad last night; 18 corners and 16 shots on goal

Not sure I would agree at this stage.
Bayern are definitely not the team they were, neither are Barca.
We proved last night that we can more than match Atletico.

I aint saying they are ****.
But Barca being top of La Liga proves nothing. They will always be top of La Liga, either they or one of the Madrids.
They still are not the same force they were a few years ago imo. Outside of the top 4 or 5 teams, La Liga is a weak league.

No probably not. But given some luck and playing their best when it matters, they can still win CL

Yeah they are certainly one of the contenders.
I think City, United, Chelsea, Real, Barca and PSG are the teams who will go the furthest.

If all the English teams can keep injury free, one* of them could win it.

Far too early to judge yet. It's only round 2 of the group stage. This question needs to be asked again at the QF stage to see if there are any English teams still left in the competition.

well we have got more points than anyone else since the start of the 2015/16 season......and we have got less strength in depth than the moneybags clubs so perhaps it might be true?
