Well the answer to that is a big fat no,i don't think they will be ready for another 2 years,if things at this club don't change example management and I mean not only slade but all management,On the playing side only a handful of players could make it in the premiership Marshall,Watt, and Manga,in my opinion the rest are at best championship or div one players. The person who should take most of the blame is the owner, the sleeping owner who only seems to turn up when we were in the premiership. This can only be turned around by the owner putting his hand in his pocket in January, and someone with knowledge of the game getting in players that have ambition and drive to get us to the promise land.I know Tan has put a lot into this club but his investment is going down the chute fast, at best this year with falling crowds is mid table. But believe it or not my glass is still half full, but change has to come and it has to come fast.
Will.......maybe the attitude is ........we'll solve that when we get there? Not sure it is the correct methodology but it is one way. Presumably fair play rules also play a part. It seems less possible now to buy one's way up and then buy one's right to stay. Absolutely unconvinced that Russ is the boy to keep us there and that menas management change....not something that has successfully been demonstrated in the psst by us or other teams.
all i think we need at the moment is an attacking play style and an attacking manager, the years under Jones were some of the best football I've seen, sure we lost 3-0 or 4-0 every now and then but we always knew that we had the ability to thrash any team 3 or 4-0, under Slade i don't see it (although the inclusion of Watt, who is a must buy in the January window, has improved that) i personally don't care about being in the premier league it was awful when we were there and it doesn't seem to be getting any better (unless you're a Leicester fan), keep us here, let's play some attractive football and win a few games.
The last 2 games have sort of shown why this football club is destined to remain in mid table with a manager who cannot manage a half decent squad, and coaches who cannot coach. Watching the Birmingham games on tv and listening to the MK Dons game on the radio, illustrated City playing some decent football up to the last touch but being fragile at the back.. A few months back, our defence was rock solid - now it is not. What has happened there? A few matches ago we were scoring 2-3 each game, now we cannot score (apart from long range effort). What is going on? What the heck will happen tonight? I have gone for a win in the prediction league but I did that before xmas, but who now knows which City team will turn up tonight?
