British Airways new advert for the Olympics features London Calling by the Clash (absolutely brilliant song by the way). For those of you who donlt know the song the gist of it is that London was falling apart, at the seams, would probably be the subject of a nuclear apocalypse and was full of racist policemen who wouldnlt think twice about battering yiou with a truncheon. Is that really how British Airways want people to think of our capital city???????
Sounds pretty accurate to me. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
I suppose they could have used Inner London Violence by Bad Manners or Streets of London by Anti Nowhere League, all great songs.
They could have used Holidays in the Sun by the Sex pistols but I don't think they fly to Belsen anymore........
You think thats bad Bruce Springsteens streets of philadelphia is about the dirty aids and gays 'I was bruised and battered, I couldnt tell what I felt' stop taking it up the poopshoot then
Just a bloody song. Most people have heard it and wouldn't have the faintest about the lyrics, and those who do, don't give a flying ****. Sorry about that Dan.
Oh I dunno - if he'd known he was going to be killed at the age of 33 by a police officer he might have never bothered training to be a teacher, sold papers and managed to have a bit of fun for fa few years.
