Morning all. There was a BBS on here yesterday who posted an article saying we had no chance of signing Baines from the BS. He claimed that he couldn't reveal his past identity as he would be banned immediately. He sounded suspiciously like the dreaded Lettuce to me, although he claimed not to be. Does anyone remember this post yesterday and if so, do you have any views on his identity? Apart from Sockrobber, who were the other seriously BBS on BBC 606? I can't remember them.
Sounded like Lettuce to me, he knew too much about what Lettuce got right to be someone other than Lettuce.
Ze. I agree. Some way into the thread, he started losing it a bit and his true colours started to show through. As a mod, I'm wondering what your plans are for him. Are you going to be lenient or is he for the chop?
I banned a user called lettuce before because he was being a dick. I don't think it was the real lettuce as he was making remarks regarding hillsborough and I know that the hillsborough tragedy effected everton fans as well as liverpool fans because at the end of the day, it was people from Liverpool that died. If this is the real lettuce and he keeps his wums entertaining (not stupid idiotic wums like OMG U SINED H3ND0, LOLWTF?!?!?!) then I wont look to ban him
I'm not going to ban anyone who hasn't done anything wrong - so as long as he stays on good behaviour then he's alright to stay as far as I'm concerned.
ExPat's posts are obvious wums but relatively harmless so far. I think most of our posters have enough nous not to fall for them and take them seriously. I don't think we should ban people like him/her for trying to cause a bit of gentle mischief. I'm more concerned with those inarticulate ones whose only arguments are abusive and foul-mouthed because if some of us rise to the bait the whole thing descends into a slanging match and gets closed down and useful debate is then lost.
sometimes its more fun to take the bait, I'd rather bite and get in to a debate then sit here and actually work
I closed down some of his articles during my time as a mod because they were bloody pointless and just general cheap digs...mostly at Henderson.
KPR. I take your point, Ex did try hard to wind you up at times and if he was doing that to me I'd probably get pissed off too. Bozz. I didn't mean we shouldn't get involved at all. I was thinking more of those whose idea of debate is to come on here shouting 19 at us. Then it escalates, Heysel, Hillsborough and Munich eventually get dragged into it and it all becomes nasty.
Most of the WUMs on here are OK. Far better than old 606 where there were some right raving nutters. Not sure about Rusholme Ruffian though. One of my threads had to be edited the other day because of the bile he flodded onto it. Can't remember who the mod was though. I think he may just have been having a bad day, so benefit of the douby I suppose!
Saintanton. I can remember deleting 15 Henderson articles in less than an hour.Most of them were from this idiot.Now if this isn't a banning offence,I don't know what is.Imagine if at the time if I posted 20 ''Phil Jones is crap'' articles on the Man U board..how well that would go down.
banter is good, hate is bad. simple. as a moderator your job is hard to tread on the right path and see when it tips to the "dark side" of the line. sockrobber was fine as a wum, lettuce was ok but there's ok and then there's spamming. I think while having a guy like him on is ok thier obsession is always threatening to tip into spoiling the whole board when he floods it with articles. do you want half the article son lfc to be written by him? so far in the short time i've been on i've not seen many of the old 606 classic wum effort slike the constant posting of one article or a series of articles to block others etc... so i hope that stays that way.

Some of Expat's earlier posts seemed to have a slightly different style. I don't know if it is lettuce and he was trying to maintain a disguise and it's now slipped a bit or whether he's got multiple personality disorder. I always thought lettuce was a few leaves short of a salad anyway.
poor old lettuce, we developed a tactic on 606 where you'd ask inane questions of the wum. i asked lettuce once... paper or plastic. to which he replied as expect about moeny and i said no i meant what kind of bag to you prefer to come in. wum baiting became a skill, talking football went by the wayside.... so hopefully you guys can keep football chat the focus here.
