If Sunderland are able to buy Alberto Aquilani ,it would be good for Raul Meirelss and
    Liverpool.
I do not think we need to sell Meireless if we can find buyer for Alberto Aquilani, we
    need a very strong midfield.

I think we should keep them both.

Loan out Shelvey and possibly Spearing? Both to Premier league clubs - like Bolton/Newcastle etc..

Get a good season under us, then look to sell one of them/both of them next summer.

Loan out Shelvey and Spearing to small clubs like Everton or Manchester United.

Aqualani wouldn't last two minutes at our place lads.....with our injury record the poor lad would be broken in half by Christmas......

would keep aqua, give him a proper chance, looked good the brief time we did see him, keep cole too but play him in the middle, let raul go, he is a classic case of "scored a few goals syndrome" he scored a few and people went mad yet done nothing since(less creating carrolls 2nd v man c) I would let him go along with lucas, poulsen and shelvey (on perm deals NO LOANS) lucas is simiar to raul he is classic case of "made a few tackles syndrome" made 3 good tackles at home v chavs and all of sudden hes great and loads of reds and the clueless media/pundits this hes great despite him doing nothing and offering nothing, the only time noticed is when he gives fouls away, a poor mans poulsen

I'd say keep Aquilani. He did have a pretty poor injury record but if we can get him fit, he can be a valuable asset to our team. I can see Meireles leaving even though he has had an excellent season at Liverpool.

Yeah, that's what his teammates and all those different managers of Liverpool and Brazil said. Gerrard's piped up again this weekend with a misplaced and clearly uninformed tribute to Lucas's character, what with all the slaggings he's had from muppet fans, the poor man's Andy Grays, who don't know half of what players and managers know of Lucas, LFC Player of the Year.

Keep Aqualiani sell Merieles, we'll get more for him and Aqualiani is better. I think Aqualaini's injury issues are behind him and we can look forward to a season of graft from him.and as for Sir Bob's opinion of Lucas.... pfft, The guy is a future Kop legend

Never seen a post go downhill so fast.

Aqua- yes give him a chance. Think we'd regret letting him move to a rival team.

But Lucas- man those few tackles that happened to add up to the highest number in the league really are misleading. Making the most tackles in the league really does give a false impression of him making the most tackles in the league... come again? By the time Lucas has a bit more experience and his unfair abuse etc is well behind him he will be a hugely respected defensive midfielder on both domestic and international stages. The guy is developing the positional sense of Mascherano only with a comfort on the ball of someone more like Busquets. He's growing in confidence every game, has started to even take some of the youngsters under his wing and is maturing very nicely. Can't believe these opinions are still around. He may have been a laughing stock not long ago (mostly unfairly) but i personally think he has a great future ahead of him.

Lucas passing has also improved, he might not have the hollywood ball of Alonso but the positive attacking passes he makes and ball retention are superb.

Anyone who knows anything about football will be able to see that Lucas is a decent player, people saying otherwise are either on the WU or just plain stupid.

Aquilani is the better player. But we know he wants a move to Italy.

I say keep Aquilani for a season and make him perform for his dream move. Like Ronaldo and Alonso did.

Aquaman is better then Meireles imo... Aquaman proved last season that he can stay on the pitch for 90 minutes

I reckon we could get £15m for Meireles, and there'd be plenty of suitors unlike Aquilani - so maybe we should be looking to offload him and keep Aquilani?

    Keep them both.

This provides squad depth and cover.

I can't believe someone on this thread is advocating selling Merieles & keeping Cole? I mean, WTF is that all about?

Loan out Shelvey and maybe Spearing, and make Lucas captain.
