Did anyone else pick up the 'news' story on Talkshite this morning that the Mackems have expressed an interest in Aquilani? If that and the Defoe deal were to go through that would be a whole bloody team that Steve Bruce has forked out for.... GKRK

I would think Aquaman is staying or going to Itlay? To come back and then go to Sunderland, I would have thought that unlikely but then I haven't actually spoken to the lad <ok>

I'd rather see what he's got, never had a chance to,, Keep him I say and see what he has to offer as a fully fit young man instead of the drama surrounding his arrival and his injury to boot last time. He had shown some good things though rarely, glimmers you might say. I want to see how he does before he goes anywhere, don't want to see him go to Sunderland for a year and then be sold for 35m or something after a blinding season, that would be a sickener

He can go to Sunderland if they can fork out ~18m for him.

I'd like him to stay. I think he has quality and hasn't had the chance to show it. If he starts playing well in the Prem I'd rather it was for us and not Sunderland.
Anyway, I thought one of the stated reasons for staying in Italy was the **** weather on Merseyside.
Has he been to the north east?

I can't see him going to Sunderland. They have got quite a few midfielders and I would suspect that Aquilani is on a significant wage and I believe Sunderland have a wage cap.

However, football is a strange game. You never know...

Don't think so it would happen, someone as classy as Aquilani would never fit in with rubbish like John O Shea,Wes Brown and Frasier Campbell.

This thread shows up in the first ones for a search of 'Aquilani Sunderland' and only one on the first page is about him going there, which is from caughtoffside, so y'know.

I heard Durham and Gough on TS talking about good days out with the kids this week so they must be struggling for stories.

I hope we don't lose him... we're perilously short on midfielders. I'm not sure how we're going to keep the 1-9-1 formation alive if he leaves! ;)

Seriously- I thought he did blumin good for us those last few games of the season when he was fit- man of the match (or close to) for most of them. Sure, he was injured for most of the season- but we kinda knew he'd miss a huge chunk of it when we signed him. (which seemed a strange transfer decision).

My opinion- Aquaman is a very decent player- very flair and creative.

However, he has legs of glass, and Liverpool has more midfielders than South Carolina has skinny people. So; stay or go- I'm not too worried.

Ok when he was fit yes he did show what he had and i watched several games when he was in Italy
And yes he is a decent player but like lavesh said he has glass legs

Time will tell i suppose he could do a Alonso give us the best up his value and let him move on
