Just remembered that in our promotion season from division 3 (league 2 as it is now) in 2003/04 on April 12th 2004 we had an away game at Swansea. The result of that game was a 3-2 win, and i think the scorers were Big Ben Burgess and Danny Allsopp (can't remember who got the brace). Was a big result that day to take us closer to promotion. Anyway, could this maybe be an omen playing Swansea on the same day as back in 2004? Watched Swansea on FLS last night and they look a very good side, and with our away form it has potential to be a cracker. Here's hoping for the same result as 7 years ago!
This is the sort of game that they should stick on tv. Best away side v one of the best home sides. But not they put Barnsley v Hull or Preston v Hull on instead.
I agree, this would be a good match for TV. Shame it's on a Tuesday with a Champions League game the same night. Talking of which, longest away trip of the season is a midweek evening game. Thank you very much to the idiots that compiled the fixture list. They should try to make the evening games the shortest journeys not the longest.
It would be a good game to show, we've really lucked out with the tv games this season. They're not showing any of Tuesday nights Championship games on Sky, unfortunately they had to leave the slots free for the British Basketball League and Cycling(though there is a Champions League quarter final).
It's a UEFA rule about televised games not being allowed to go up against their competitions. You can get round it with funny kick off times, there's St Johnstone vs Rangers/Celtic (both games) kicking off at 6pm so they can be televised, and Serie A have had a few early kickoffs for the same reason. Hmmm, CL Final and L2 Playoff Final are the same day and both will be televised, what's the kick off times?
