The two plonkers from the week-end,Suarez and Dalglish have "apologised" for what they did and said!!No,they haven't...they have been told by both the club's owners and the club's main sponsors to apologise, and they have issued statements saying they are sorry.Does this ring true,or seem genuine to you??It doesn't sit right to me.What are your thoughts, lads and lasses??

I agree with you. Suarez isn't sorry, I'm almost certain of that.

It doesn't mean anything if it doesn't happen straight away, if Suarez had done a post-match interview and apologised I'd be more inclined to believe he was actually sorry, but he probably received a bolocking off of someone which is why he apologised.

Sponsors threatened to pull the plug hence the apology.
Your right Calc, neither Suarez or Daglish appear genuine. I think Suarez will be leaving in the summer. Good player but good riddance as far as I am concerned. Need to get rid of all this racism crap creeping back into the game. It was done on an earlier thread re Kenny D. legend as a player complete tosser as a manager.

Well it reached America didnt it, New York times had a piece on it, ESPN America had it on one of those Sports shows they have on, and the general consensus was, why does John Henry not do something, its Fenway sports that are coming out this bad as well as Liverpool FC and the players/manager, Surely he has to step in and do something.

And low and behold, the next day they apologized for it, is it sincere, Suarez definately not, Dalgliesh, I believe so for the press conference anyway.

Btw i watched the ESPN show 1-2 hours after the match.

Yes, and did you see that he saw what happened, and withdrew his hand? Good for him.

He didn't shake his hand because he had just witnessed him snub Evra...

Referee Phil Dowd was behind the decision to break with protocol over the pre-match handshakes at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Normally the home team walk past the visitors and offer their hand, but Dowd reversed this in light of Luis Suarez’s dispute with Patrice Evra.
The thinking behind the switch was to keep the centre of attention - in this case Suarez - moving so he did not become a sitting target for anyone intent on making a public statement.

On the move: The away team usually remain still for the pre-match handshake

As it was, Suarez snubbed Evra but Dowd has been praised for his sensible officiating and handling of the game.
It was only the second time since the handshake was introduced five years ago that a reversal has taken place. Mike Dean came to the same decision at Chelsea in February 2010 before Manchester City’s Wayne Bridge refused to shake John Terry’s hand.
Dowd also changed position so he was close enough to Evra to step in when the Manchester United defender reacted angrily to Suarez’s snub.
The 49-year-old referee revealed the changes at the usual pre-match meeting with managers Sir Alex Ferguson and Kenny Dalglish, and captains Evra and Steven Gerrard.
These meetings were introduced at the start of the 2008-09 season as part of the Premier League’s Respect campaign. Dowd was also quick to intervene at the final whistle when Evra’s celebrations threatened to cause further problems.
The FA confirmed that no action will be taken against the United defender or Suarez because the referee had dealt with Evra at the time and refusing to shake hands is not a disciplinary issue.

I agree with the OP and said the same on another thread yesterday - had the sponsors and owners not got involved, Dalglish would still be spouting the same ****e about Suarez doing nothing wrong!! Even though he was found guilty of making a racially aggravated comment by a panel.

Got no respect for either of them now - both can go **** themselves (although kenny appears to be already doing that to Suarez from recent comments!!)

You've got that right OP.

Neither Dogleash or Suarez are sorry at all.

They have been forced to make an indirect apology because their sponsors have probably said they'll pull out if any more negativity surrounds the club. The owners of LFC have FORCED them to get on their knees. The pair of them are pathetic, I've never wished bad on any player but I wouldn't even blink if a Lee Cattermole / Joey Barton type player decided to end Suarez's career.

I think it was Steve made the point about the Yanks.
I don't think it was sponsorship issues but the Yanks were fuming, how the two of them were dragging the name of Liverpool through the muck. With their other sports interest in the USA, they can't be seen to be in anyway allowing racism.

PS.

They have only apologised to Liverpool not Evra!
