Apart from the obvious....Who do you WANT to win it?

A complete outside - Slovakia, Iceland, Hungary, Croatia etc

IE - not France, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Italy etc

 

I'll be honest. I have paid hardly any attention to other groups and didn't even realise Holland weren't in it.
As they are not in it then I'll go for the Germans

 

I'd be quite happy to see Belgium or Switzerland win it, actually.

 

Croatia - they are one of the few I've actually enjoyed watching. They play proper football

I'd like to see Italy win it. They've been written off before the tournament, but have been the best team so far. They've got a tough group, as well.

Croatia - hmm events in the stands are swaying me towards the Italians as the 2nd best side I've watched. Then again they were poor in their 2nd game. I just can't have Portugal - Ronaldo though a great player just underperforming, is a toss pot bell end of gargantuan proportions, Spain - honestly they are a very good side but bore the living daylights out of me, complete snoozefest, Germany - ah the old enemy, I just can't have them winning again, France - **** them, not least because I've had to watch so many of their fairweather countrymen in recent times

I've bet on Portugal and Germany too so it makes no sense for me to be against them.

Er if not England then, Iceland. Just to piss off Ronaldo.

 

I quite like the German team to be honest, they aren't as exciting and attacking as they have been previously though. Back in 2006-2010 they were probably the best team to watch, certainly a lot more interesting than Spain. Spain I find utterly depressingly dull to watch, they've had their moment and I hope they win nothing else for decades.

France have potential to be exciting if they get the balance of their team sorted and a France-Germany SF or Final could be brilliant. Not that fussed with Italy, it's a nice story but if they win I'll just think "we could have won" as I don't think the players are better than ours (Would Pelle, Giaccherini, or a couple of others there even make our squad? I don't think they would). Aside from when they're playing us I'll support all the home nations and Ireland - I love that there's so many this tournament.

Croatia would be great to see win though!

 

can't stand Italy,
don't like their tactics of pulling players down if they get past them, or kicking them up a height
because the other team is better
in their last game I think 4 of their players were booked for those tactics
horrible Italian ploy of win at any cost

 

Very similar themes we've covered there! That will teach me for taking too long to think about what I'm typing before I post. I would love it if Hungary beat/draw with Portugal and Iceland go through instead.

Somewhat surprisingly, it appears that I/4 of the 16 best teams in Europe come from the British Isles (I am of course aware that the ROI is not part of Britain but it is located on the archipelago)

Might seem to contradict the school of thought that the british style is an ineefective neandrethal throwback. Perhaps

 

My answer to this would have been Iceland - but seeing as we play them next I think I'll need to change that one!
