The use of video replays in football. Good thing / bad thing? Last night the Italians appealed but got nowt after video relay. If as seems likely it will be implemented (Infantino wants it for Russia World Cup), what sort of 'dramatic' music should be used whilst the video is replayed? Also and more importantly, will all supporters get cards handed out (to be used when the video is being analysed) with 'Goal' or 'Cheat Fell Over' or 'The video refs a ba5tard', that sort of thing. Appreciate that the cards might have to be quite big dependent on the comment. And, could the cards be used to distract oppo players. 1) As Concorde size paper/ card planes to be thrown on to pitch, piercing someone in the eye 2) If during a passage of play, some rogue spectator holds up a 'Cheat Fell Over' could a player stop and request video replay to check? Just thought I'd ask like.
I've been git busy at work today and forget to eat any dinner/lunch. I've had nowt but 3 cups of tea and an oat bar at 10am. I mention this only because I've just got in, had half a glass of merlot and it must have gone straight to my head, 'cos I haven't got a ****ing clue what you are on about.
Are they going to look at video replays for incidents where the referee has turned a blind eye to the ruck and maul that always happens at corners? Or would that just embarrass the useless refs?
Good idea, but eventually a ref will be sitting off the pitch & watching on a tv screen with multiple replays. It takes less than 10 seconds to see a mistake has been made & refs shouldn't bear the brunt of it, the players need to stop cheating in the first place. Yes it would take away a lot of post match analysis, a lot of pub conversations, but it'd be better for the game overall!
