i can't remember the last time we looked so good going forward. even when we had ronaldo and tevez in the team, we seem so much more fluid and everyone is interchanging with one another..everything has just clicked into place. the speed with which we're breaking forward and our decision making in the final 3rd is as good as i can remember it for years.

add to the fact that our defence has rarely looked better (so much for needing a consistent back 4), de gea improving with every game. ando is finally getting his chance match after match..cant wait for the rest of the season

Well, when City beat Spurs United destroyed Arsenal, kicking them whilst they were down, this week City swept Wigan aside but United blew Bolton away.

I have to agree, an interesting season ahead of us, even as Liverpool supporter I'm enjoying the United/City rivalry at the top of the table, a good battle for the title with (I'd say) three genuine challengers.

Exciting times, but I'm refusing to get carried away. Runs like these almost always end, and the better the run the harder it is to deal with it when the goals and wins stop coming. That'll be the true test of this team and the new youngsters, much like it'll be the test of City's title credentials. Both Utd and City can beat anyone else in the league when playing well, but will they still get the results when playing badly? That's what will decide the title this year imo.

Just a shame that Cleverly and Welbeck have picked up injuries when they were looking impressive.

Welbeck is exciting, a fresh young player with hunger for goals, problem is United already have some really hungry strikers already! (Rooney and Hernandez)

Cleverly will come good and as the season progresses, so will he, a good player, comfortable in posession and just simple passing. As the seasons go on he will become more advanced and improve with experience.

I remember this time last season and Chelsea looked the only candidates for the title. Long way to go yet and i will keep my feet on the ground until after Christmas.

I agree. United's players are alot more versatile and can make up for any absentees.

It's hard to see it happening under Fergie, but we have a lot of young and inexperienced players. If they aren't able to deal with the pressure of winning a scrappy game during a cold winter night in stoke, we may be in trouble.

Don't see it happening, but if we were to suffer some sort of mental lapse it would most likely be in a few of the younger players.

This is true, but fortunately we aren't so reliant on our younger players. For every inexperienced player in the team we have some experienced backups - players like Carrick, Fletcher, Park, Valencia, Berb, even Owen and Evans have enough experience at the sharp end to help guide us through if the youngsters struggle. The only thing that could really negatively affect us would be if our youngsters in defence lost confidence, as that would leave us without any backup now that Brown and O'Shea have gone.

When you thrashed roma 7-1, that was a great match and you guys looked amazing.

But either way, eh wait till the 2nd of the season, this is out of city and united its that simple.

Swarbs I totaly agree with evrything that you have said . I couldn't expressed it better myself. There is still along way to go in the season. Let us see how the teams cope when they get any injuries, then maybe we will be able to get a better idea of how good the teams really are. Let us hope that we can battle to the last game of the season with out 2 many injuries.

We already have and have had injuries to Valencia, Hernandez, Vidic, Ferdinand, Fabio, Rafael, Welbeck, Fletcher and now Cleverly.
