It doesn't seem necessary to me to send him to jail, not at all. Wasn't it only last week that a dog-owner got a 3-month suspended sentence for allowing his dog to maul a young girl and bite off half her ear?
Oops, sorry Ted, just posted this on another thread - This is a very sad thing - yes, it's a deliberate attempt to flout the law, but couldn't some mitigation have been applied to take into account his none-too-healthy mental state at the time of the offence?
