Great first two rounds for Mclroy, but as the saying goes "it's not how you start but how you finish"...

I'm enjoying it. Didn't think there'd be many people who play golf on here really. I've been a member at Castle Eden for ten years, but haven't played for two months. Really missing it. Looks quite interesting the next two days at Liverpool.

It's a good six mile walk, more if you don't hit it straight. Once you hit your first decent shot, you're hooked. You want to do it again. It only takes one..........

Me old fella used to play there some 20 years ago, was a canny course, I was never much of a player but have been to the Open a few times with himself as he was an avid golfer and in his later years watched it all the way through, sadly he died in April so am watching this years open as he would have, funnily enough have enjoyed the last 2 days and will be interesting to see how it shapes up over the next 2.

It's an expensive, pretentious and frustrating elitist game. Think long and hard before taking it up and if you are easily irked don't even pick up a club. That one good shot that Sombrero talks of will disappear in to a sea of slices, hooks, shanks and lost balls.

Golf is as costly as you make it and as for the pretentious and elitist comments that's just insulting, I know many people who are far from this snide generalisation who play golf.

Had some awesome holidays abroad with golf. Tell your lass you're going on a stag week abroad and she'll get the right hump. Tell her you're off on a golf week with the mates and it doesn't come across so bad <whistle>

Since I gave up playing football about seven years ago I have put a hell of a lot of weight on and really need to do something to get back in shape..I was thinking of getting myself a decent mountain bike and getting myself out some of the fantastic off road tracks we have in our region..However, I may just get myself a five or six iron club and knock a few balls around some of the local fields to see how i get on...
PS..Well done Mclroy on a fantastic achievement under a hell of a lot of pressure on the final round..
