......How the Europeans are delighted to engage and FOLOW the UK in defence of Ukraine.

Contrast the cold shoulder and hostility the UK received in Brexit negotiations.

I have noticed RP however I wouldnt agree so much the cold shoulder during the Brexit negotiations, more ineptitude from the UK side.

I’d say it was a bit of both
The Tories at the time including Theresa May were firm remainers

We were weak at every turn as some Tories, Labour and Lib Dem opposition and the judiciary were against it.
If negotiations started with a man like Trump negotiating saying 'agree our terms or you're own with defence' we'd have got a far better result.

Sorry RP. Out in the sunshine with Mrs R&W with a cold Guinness and only just checked in.
Brexit has been a clusterfuck and we will be hurting economically from it for generations unless the economic map changes drastically. Whether it MIGHT have been more successful if negotiated differently we’ll never know, but it was obvious that the EU would play ‘hard ball’.
As to defence; Trump is right insomuch as Europe (the UK included) has taken the US for granted for years and the yanks have been subsidising us all in that regard since WW2. However, pulling the support at a time when Putin is actively invading a close neighbour is an extremely dangerous strategy - for Ukraine and Europe directly, but an emboldened and unopposed Putin would be dangerous and a threat to the US too.
An EU defence force was mooted some years ago and never took hold. It was never popular for us and I think the European states too.

Now the EU don't want British firms access to the £150billion spending on defence..........unless we allow the French to fish in our waters.

They're happy to have our boys leading in the coalition of the willing yet put outrageous conditions on the UK actually 'making the bullets'.

    You can't make it up.
    So pleased I voted Leave.
