hi just to ask everyone i recorded the game today and was watching it. a strange lines man decision if you go to 35:19 and pause it you can see the linesman putting his flag up for offside the strange thing is if you look at it the ball was in mid air and no one had touched it on to anyone yet. also if you listen to it carefully he can here just before the flag went up you can here someone shout holt offside then he puts his flag up even tho no one touched the ball yet as its in mid air and if you look there where 2 aston villa players way back in defence with one norwich player with them which is not holt. so how can a linesman put the flag up when the ball was in mid air and none of our players where offside at the time. its very strange and should off had a penalty.
Didn't notice that. But I'd say the officials were pretty fair. In the 2nd half Holt went down somewhat easily right in front of the linesman who gave the FK so probs went both ways today. Penalty shout was soft imo. If its the one I'm thinking of that is.
I'm sure I saw an offside given today when a ball flicked off the Villa defender and Hoolahoop was running onto the ball and clear of the defence. Not much was made of it though, even though it would have been a clear goalscoring chance. Doubt that will be on M of the D.
The worst decision made today was not sending off the Villa's Herd for a poor challenge on Hoolahan, when advantage got played and Holt missed his one on one with the Keeper. Blatant second booking and Villa would have been down to 9 men. Bottle job by the ref. who saw it clearly.
Yes saw that thought he was going to have him after Holty had finished his move but no chance clear sending off, also the ball that Wes was flagged off for came off a villa head Add to that the clear pen for a push in Bennett think villa got away with it a bit
Just seen the highlights. The officials were not that great to say the least. Actually reasonably fair coverage on MOTD albeit brief
That was a massive moment in the game, and the officials between them got it horrifically wrong if the decision was given for off-side. Holty was nowhere near touching it and Wes was absolutely clear through on goal, absolutely shocking decision by the linesman. It's moments like these that have been going against us so far this year, but I'm sure we'll get our fair share of dodgy decisions going our way at some point in the season.
Ha ha I thought the same ! Who ever would come onto a show watched by millions looking like a ****ing tramp ! Seen better dressed people down the night shelter. On another point guess Shearer wasn't there as he's "advising" Evans how to **** up the next chapter in the binners sorry saga ?
I'm sure it's for "Movember" and whilst we all can't stand the prick, he is doing it for a good cause!
But his predictions have improved! Maybe he is spending more time thinking and researching and less time looking in a mirror.
Er, I sincerely hope not as last time I checked we were still in October and if you do it properly (so speaks someone who raised £500 thanks to a lot of you lovely people a couple of years back) growing doesn't start until November 1st and its top lip only, not that hideous looking thing he had all around his mush last night.
Just seen it, it was a horrible challenge. It could have caused a serious injury. I would want to the FA to have a look at it afterwards but of course they won't!
While we are on strange decisions, what about the BBC website's headline "10 man Villa denied by Norwich"! Yeah, I guess we were defending desperately against the 10 men after Bennett was sent off, but the little team of underdogs held out. And people get paid to write this stuff.
