One day we will get back to the momentum we had before QPR but at the moment it's not happening for us. We came out with a draw so not everything is negative but we could have been better.''

Goalkeeper Petr Cech admitted Chelsea failed to kill off the game when they had the chance. ''We could have put the game beyond their reach but we didn't do and that's why they came back into the game,'' he said. ''For their comeback they deserved a point. We had chances to kill the game off but we didn't do it.

''We kept organised and did what we had to do. For them it was a fantastic game and they had nothing to lose. When you get the opponent in this sort of mood it's difficult. We could have done it the easiest way possible and play four games and be qualified so now we have to do it the hard way."

During the match, Blues fans repeatedly chanted about QPR defender Anton Ferdinand in response to the John Terry racism inquiry. After the final whistle, a spokesperson for Chelsea said: "The chanting was wholly inappropriate and we don't condone it."

Many of the 1,100 visiting Chelsea fans, crassly, showed what they thought of that by chanting “We know what you are, Anton Ferdinand, we know what you are” during the match. Ill-judged doesn’t get close to describing the inappropriateness of it, although as their team was pegged back for periods by Belgian champions Genk, it eventually stopped.

Apparently it was "Anton Ferdinand - you know what you are".

Even the bloke on the BBC radio this morning said that although the phrase in itself is not racist, it was pretty obvious what they were referring to.

I have already seen and heard people saying that they didn't mean that at all and it is just everyone else jumping to conclusions.

Sounds a bit like they are using the John Terry defence ....

1. Say what you like.
2. Get caught out.
3. Say that you did actually say it, but it wasn't meant in that way.
4. Blame everyone else for taking it in the wrong way.
5. Think that because you are a top international player (or in this case think that because you are near the top of the league and have a bigger ground) whatever you say should be believed without question.
6. Feel aggrieved when people want to check out your story.

A lot of the comments from Chelsea supporters in the press over the last few days have consisted of

Who are QPR?
We are bigger than them. They are just jealous of us.
Why is there such a big fuss being made?
We are bigger than them. They are just jealous of us.
It was just said in the heat of the moment.
We are bigger than them. They are just jealous of us.
Everyone thinks it, but JT just happened to say it and was caught on camera. (That's was a good one!)
We are bigger than them. They are just jealous of us.
John Terry is a God in football.

Unfortunately John Terry comes from a similar background to these Chelsea idiots ... and it shows. (Respect to the majority of proper Chelsea supporters who are distancing themselves from the scum element.)

AVB is showing himself to be deafer than Wenger. apparently he 'heard nothing', even though the club were quick after the game to condemn the chants.

Sme say him and cfc is match made in heaven............

Nasty racist element at Stamford Bridge. Maybe the Chelsea emblem should be changed to a white hood and burning cross.

What a bunch of thick, uneducated muppets. Maybe if any of those mugs had half a brain cell between them they would have realised that chant actually makes things worse for ‘thug Terry’.

<laugh>

You really do have to look at that ‘classless club’ supported by morons and be thankful you are not one of them.

<laugh>

I reckon that’s the ‘nail in the coffin’ for his England captaincy I hope.
I wonder if we will get any Chelsea muppets on here trying to defend last nights chant?

Shows Chelski for what they really are. Scum. I cant understand how decent guys would associate themselves with that club, never had and never will. They are fundamentaly right wing facist twats! What they were singing about Anton is an absolute disgrace. More than half their team are black for god sake!

In answer to the question "We know what you are Anton Ferndinand?" May I suggest an appropriate answer "The player that's gonna replace terry in the England squad"!

UEFA will await report before making action against Chelsea - Chelsea - London 24

Terry has denied making a racist remark towards Ferdinand
UEFA will await report before making action against Chelsea

UEFA confirmed their disciplinary unit “would look into” any allegations of racist chanting.

UEFA were waiting on the reports from their match delegate and referee before deciding to take any action over Chelsea fans’ taunting of QPR defender Anton Ferdinand in their Champions League Group E tie against Genk, which ended 1-1.

Some of the Blues’ travelling contingent were clearly heard singing, “Anton Ferdinand, you know what you are”, during the match at the Cristal Arena.

It appeared to be support for captain John Terry, who denies racially abusing Ferdinand.

“It was wholly inappropriate and we don’t condone it,” a Chelsea spokesman said after the match.

UEFA confirmed their disciplinary unit “would look into” any allegations of racist chanting.

Possible sanctions for racist chanting include fines and forcing clubs to play matches behind closed doors.

However, even if UEFA are made aware of last night’s chants, it remains to be seen whether they can be deemed to be racist in a disciplinary sense.

I actually feel quite sorry for right-minded Chelsea supporters this morning. For years they were seen as a centre point of psuedo-facism and football hooliganism and one of the few clubs where the mindless yobs outnumbered the true fans. It looked like this had been corrected in the last 20 years or so (albeit at great cost to the real fans and the club's ethos) and the real low life's now look for trouble outside the confines of the club itself. However, last night saw a great number of travelling scum participating directly in organized racial abuse (although they probably thought it was just a bit of a laugh). Given these people have access to Chelsea's Champions League ticket allocation and are so many in number they are clearly part and parcel of the club's mainstream support. So nothing has really changed and obnoxious right-wing extremism is still prevelant among the Chelsea faithful.

Kick It Out statement regarding chanting in Genk

Wednesday 2 Nov 2011

Kick It Out Chair, Lord Herman Ouseley, has made a statement regarding the chanting targeted at Anton Ferdinand by Chelsea fans during last night's (1 November) Champions League game with Genk in Belgium.

He said: "As with all incidents of abuse in European competition, it is under the jurisdiction of UEFA to determine whether action will be taken.

"There is also a duty and obligation for Chelsea FC to do likewise. We’d urge the club to warn supporters of their conduct before future fixtures, look to identify who was involved, and apologise to Anton Ferdinand on behalf of supporters everywhere who found the chant deplorable."
