in relation to the tax issue and the fact they have not managed to have an agm. he also slagged of the hun fans for not listening to what the media have been trying to tell them for years re the financial problems. funny but i do not remember the scottish media saying to much about it until fairly recently. also the wee tax case which they had previously agreed to pay, but have not paid has risen from 2.8 million to 4.1 million. Traynor said there is serious problems at rangers even without the tax case. normally if i heard this on a sat night i would put it down to to much beer, but having a night off it so he really must have said it
Rangers are embroiled in a disc race between 2 dvd suppliers and distributors for the exclusive rights to the story of Motherwell Bazillionaire Craig whyte. Sill Timmy
Traynor did have a column in the DR the other day saying much the same thing. But you're right, this has been known about for a number of years yet I'm not aware of any of the Scottish papers doing any in-depth articles into the financial situation at Rangers. It seems to me a pretty obvious piece of investigative journalism. Maybe that says more about the state of the press in Scotland than it does about Rangers though.
I said in my long rant on the meeja thread that they (the meeja) are at least partly culpable for this ****.
this was his point, why have they not had there accounts signed off when they have been signed off previously with this tax case hanging over them
Have the SFA not ok'd their initial application for a license to play in european competition though?
Chico should know this. I don't, but he should. I'd guess that until very recently they told everyone that there was no problem. The big bill would go in their favour. That is what they accounted for and that is what they presented. Did Chico question that? I don't recall anyone questioning that? ....'cept maybe a few green and ghrey fantasist bigots on the internet
For next season? Dunno. Regan tweeted recently that he was bored of repeating that this years licence was above board. I'd say that'll be revisited in the near future. The concern is in regards to the "small" tax bill. The timing ain't quite right. I don't think the monkeys are going to be in yoorup next year. or the year after.......or the year after.
Sure the application is with the FA of that country then around March/April UEFA grant or deny said license. Last year they had there accounts signed off late too hence the questions to Regan about it as Rangers must have had there's approved before having their accounts signed off to meet the deadline - according to UEFA rules and what he had tweeted regarding the dates details needed to be in by.
The question was about their indebtedness to the tax authorities rather than the submission of club accounts..... At least I thought it was.
But surely Rangers felt justified in not paying taxes. You could travel the length and breadth of England Wales and Scotland and you would never come across as loyal a group of fans as the Rangers fans. Surely its a bit rich of HMRC to expect the Rangers club to pay taxes when you consider the amount of homage the Rangers fans pay ever so often. Any fool could pay taxes, its only money, but it takes a special club to pay the homage and sing the God Save The Queen, with such love of Her Majesty and such hatred of them Celts.
