There were rumours of a planned protest before the last home game or was it before the Liverpool one, I don't remember know. I was wondering if that protest should be resurected or are we too proud to protest? It seems to have worked wonders for Blackburn.....
It was before the Swansea match and the idea was shelved but I'd have to do some digging around as I can't remember why...... or it may have been to do with the players who were signed on dateline day.
I guess, what do they really achieve? Manure fans have protested against the Glazers for a while, funny you do not hear them anymore. Amazing what a few trophies in the cabinet does.....
Protesting would be counter-productive. What would it acheive? A protest would only destabilize the team further and give the press more sticks to beat Arsenal with. I don't know if you are being serious but the Blackburn fan's protest on saturday had absolutely no bearing on the fact that we lost. We have our inept defending to thank for that.
It could be the protest that worked wonder on players mind and that made them to gave it all whenever they are on the pitch.
You say that, what if the manager had the full backing of his players and wanted to make a statement to the fans..... The protest could have galvanized the players to play well...... I know we contributed to our own downfall as well....
I suppose it would depend on the nature of the protest. A show of solidarity followed by vocal support by the fans might galvanize the team. But a protest along the lines Blackburn, (ie: Wenger out! sign new players! we are ****!) would have the opposite effect I suspect and damage the already wafer-thin team morale. What I mean to say is that Arsenal need the fans support more than ever at this moment (despite what your own personal opinions on the manager and players may be). Protesting, by its very nature, is the opposite of the support that this team needs.
There is a massive protest billboard opposite the ground thats just gone up so I am guessing some unhappy gooners are going to make there feelings known about arsenes inability to cobble a team together for the start of a season. As long as they keep it quiet, I live at the stadium.
The protest was planned over the sale of Cesc and Nasriand at a time when AW was saying he had enough strength within the existing squad. The international break and the new signings took the steam out of the planned protest and i saw no evidence of anny dissent at the Swansea game. Thats not to say it won't happen in future if the poor start continues.
