The reason I ask is I recall reading here somewhere that the Force India driver line up for next year is being announced at theie Christmas bash. (Apologies I can't recall who said this). So do we know when this event is happening as I think the line up will be very interesting. Does Sutil keep his drive, has di Resta impressed enough in his rookie season or does the 'Hulk' get the drive some people think he's already been promised? What are the forums expectations of the line up? Whose not going to have an enjoyable Christmas do?!
I think it'll be Hulk and di Resta, but I'd really, really like it to stay the same. FI showed some good promise this year and it would be unfair to drop Sutil (who had a solid season) or di Resta (good first season in F1).
Thanks El Bando for reminding me! So the consensus seems to be Sutil will be shown the door, which is my expectation also. I think it's a bit harsh on Sutil though whose been very good at times and consistently outscoring his (albeit rookie) team-mate. I know Hulkenberg is highly rated by many but I think there's a danger that this is based heavily on his (relatively) famous pole grabbing Brazil drive. This drive may be falsely overhyping his talents as I recall he was pretty much last man out onto a rapidly drying, and therefore, quickening track... Personally I'd have kept things as they are, and would have been safer from a potential 'glassing' incident...
This. People underestimate how good Sutil has been at FI, most notably taking over the team leader role for the last couple of seasons. Will be a horrendous decision if he is left without a drive. (I expect he'll join Williams if Hulk does in fact replace him)
totally agree and even though wiliams deny that they had a wet set up i have my suspicions that it was . Willams had not shown anything like the kind of promise in the wet that they showed in Brazil, plus he finished 2.5 seconds ahead of hulkenburg. does anyone really think that hulkenberg is 2.5 seconds faster than barichello? barichello was consistantly faster than hulkenberg and scored twice the points of hulkenberg. my final point is that he finished 8th... this basically proves that it was a wet set up because if a car is a second a lap faster in the wet, then it must be close to the cars behind it. can anyone think of a car where the wet set up of a car was a second faster than the rest of the cars in the wet but a second slower in the dry? sutil is totally underated and has had some excellent performances like monaco 08 where he was going to finish 4th from 17th (until raikonenn crashed straight into the back of him). and monza 09 he qualified 2nd and finished 4th. the last race was also excellent, overtaking the mercedes with a brilliant move.
What people forget is that he already had the pole lap before his final lap, meaning even if he didn't do his last lap he would have been on pole, despite not being last out.
