Some of you may remember this post I made a few months back - https://not606.com/threads/anyone-h...ong-term-mental-physical-health-issue.411652/ Update - I'm about 75% confident now what I have is Long Covid, although not completely sure. Anyone have any experience with this crap? Had an NHS test done on Monitormyhealth website and it confirms I had covid at some point. I didn't realise I ever got it, I must have had slight symptoms at some point but never realised it was covid. But according to this test I've had in the last 12 months and my issues started 9 months ago. My exercise intolerance is still here. Paying close attention it's clear that stress doesn't cause my symptoms, it's exertion of any kind. So this **** aint in my head. I hate not being able to exercise. Still having tests done, realising that you have to advocate for yourself because GP's want to dismiss you immediately, especially if you've had mental health issues in the past and they just say it's all just stress and try to give you SSRI's. I've switched GP and this one seems better than the last one, but I'm still having to push to get sent to the long covid clinic. But according to the long haulers they'll be useless. I've tried to gradually increase exercise but I hit the same limit with symptoms, it doesn't get better. I hit the same wall each time. I was walking 15 mile hikes before all this started. Now I'm having to stick to 2 miles a day and that still brings on symptoms. I refuse to remain sedentary though, I don't want to be deconditioned. I will still pace myself and rest, but right now I can't work much and I cannot do serious exercise.
I to this day have affected sense of taste. I can taste food fine but at rest I get a variety of weird tastes, like smoke, acrid bitterness, etc. I can occasionally smell smoke (like a put out cigarette) when the air is perfectly clear. That’s it. Don’t have noticeable fatigue though feel a little less fit and a bit easier to get out of breath. This has been ongoing since I first tested positive for Covid about 4 years ago.
So, keep me right. 1. You have a variety of weird tastes. 2. You get acrid bitterness. 3. And you smell. I honestly, would never have been able to guess that based on your posts. Hope you get better soon.
First time just a very mild cold, was wondering what the fuss was about. Second time proper brutal razors blades down my throat feeling for a week. Both short though, everyone seems to be affected differently tbh.
