Check out Blackburns Facebook page - our new-found (and very welcome) Egyptian cohorts were having it large.
Appleton reckons they were "hungover" from their Victory at Arsenal. The Lancashire Telegraph has him saying the game was "A scrappy affair and the first goal was always going to win the game."
I had a shufty on one of their boards (cant recall which) and there was an 18 page match thread. It was the usual mix of '****e result, we should be beating teams like Hull' and 'Hull were a class above, they looked excellent". Standard messageboard fayre to be honest.
I looked at one of their message boards before the match in which they were claiming we were over-achieving and they were under-achieving. And therefore should be a match they pick up points from. Forgot to ask about radishes and ice-cream though.
The stats say more....8 shots on target to their 1, 7 off target to their 1, 10 corners to their 3 pretty much bossed it although I was worried towards the end we were looking tired. And sometimes I just worry.
Who cares ? Appleton should take a look at the league table before he opens up his mouth. 2nd his tactics and team selection were awful. He must be cheap as Steve Kean has more idea than Appleton does. The neutral media simply said that Blackburn were outplayed by a better Hull City side. End of.
It seems a lot of Blackburn Rovers' fans were the arrogant ones thinking it was an easy 3 points beforehand, but instead got taught a footballing lesson.
I wouldn't say we're arrogant at all - I think the comments on this thread do reflect the way in which City really dominated the game last night. Blackburn, for whatever reason, just did not live up to their billing as an up and coming promotion prospect.
What do you mean arrogant? He was just saying we played you off the park in his usual direct way. The stats proved we did.
i dont give a **** what they think of us we won got 3 points end of plus i was there and we played well thank you.
Get a grip. On the night he was made to look like one. Sorry if the truth hurts. By the way i do actually like Rhodes as a striker.
I went to the KC last night, and I totally agree with you Hull played better, and deserved the 3 points, but Micheal Appleton said before the match "They're a good team, and they're 2nd for a reason'. Appleton's tactical approach to the game was awful and you of all teams should know you cannot win them all. Did you go to the match last night?? You made Jordan Rhodes look like an 8p striker... Well like I said the tactical approach to the game from Appleton was shambolic, he's 2nd top goalscoerer for a reason so take your blinkers off.
Mr_BRFC dont get so worked up. Rhodes is a quality striker but last night...................... Good luck anyway and please beat TWS on saturday. May Rhodes grab a hatrick.
