Reason I ask is that there was an incident towards the end of the Hull match that had the crowd booing as we had a man down & the ref didn't stop the game. This was a short while after they had an injury & after the ball was put out of play, the ref was over squeezing the Hull player's bum & massaging his groin for him. Ok, perhaps not, but he did take a fair bit of interest & spent a chunk of time making sure he was ok. When Bellusci went down, the ball was nowhere near him, but a Hull striker was. The inference the crowd took was that the striker had struck Bellusci (see what I did there? ), but the ref completely ignored it. As it was off the ball, no-one actually seen what happened, although I did hear someone say that Bellusci had been elbowed. I'm pretty sure I seen him holding his leg, but tbh, I was more interested in following the game, which as somehow still in play. Bellusci appeared to be down for quite some time, although I admit that this might just be an impression. So, has anyone got access to have a look at the game & see if the camera caught it? The press doesn't seem to have picked up on it, as they were more interested in the wee scuffle they reported as 'crowd trouble'. Yours beggingly, WJ
I do recall that the 4th official did not put the extra time minutes up, and the ref played 6 mins.. Evidence is mounting up
According to Noel Whelan ...he thought Bellusci had taken one of their players out and another Ull player took Bellusci out. Although he didn't say how..
Seen it all WJ Bellusci did indeed clip one of their players off the ball, turned around and got a kick on the ankle from another of their players.
Well he reacted off the ball to goings on a minute or so earlier,he didn't complain about the kick got up limped a minute then carried on,real men up north Southern boys would have been on a stretcher.
I was not far from the incident and I thought at the time that Bellusci had been elbowed. I thought the lino had a better view than the ref but he did not seem interested. The thing about the added time that got me was that the ninety minutes had been up a good minute or two before the fourth official put the board up. Was this time taken out of the added time or did Hull get an extra couple of minutes to try for an equaliser?
