I'm sitting in Block 4 of the Devonport End and if anyone gives me a song sheet I shall rip it up and make confetti out of it lol
Was going to but have visitors for the fireworks.. not good timing is it? Perhaps we'll be able to use the fireworks as a celebration of a rare victory... surely we can beat Portsmouth in their current depleted state?
Been grandchild sitting all day and was knackered when he left so I've given this one a miss. Just had a glance at the Beeb site and it looks like one way traffic at the minute with no outcome.
Argyle win 3-0 against a youth team by the sounds of it........one year on from where we were last season.....Griffiths not even on the bench, was he injured or being kept for Saturday.
No idea about Griffiths plym. All you can do is beat the team in front of you and they did that comfortably as it seems. I find it ironic that on ATD the usual suspects are still having a pop because it was only a bunch of kids we played and we should have beated them anyway. I remember last season when we had to play a bunch of kids that the same people were kicking lumps out of Argyle for losing. No such sentiment then. You hav to smile don't you. Cowan-Hall on for 3 minutes and booked then scores in 6 minutes. Chadwick scores.........blimey. I think Saturday will be a real test as this one wasn't but it was better than pre-season matches.
Good evening gentlemen a youth team they might have been but they were still bigger than some of our players lol .... I was impressed tonight by some of our passing footy, and was also impressed with both Gorman and Paris Cowan-Hall, we are definately W.I.P. It goes without saying that Purse was solid in defence and sadly Wotton has definately lost it .... on the negative side I got soaked watching the match as the roof at the back was leaking badly and the speakers in the Devonport End seemed to be switched off .... would have thought that, that is a Health and Safety issue ..... I could be wrong, and I'm sure someone will tell me lol
You could have moved Gat I'm sure there were empty seats around somewhere...........it's only water and is only dangerous if it comes in Tsunami form or if you are holding a plugged in electrical item. If you weren't using your curlers then you should have been ok. The stats looked quite good I have to say and I wish I'd made the effort now albeit I was knackered.
Believe it or not Sensible it was quite full in the Devonport End and we couldnt see any spare seats anywhere around us ! Lyndhurst had loads of empty seats as did the Moanflower lol
I saw we subbed the Argie at halftime was he not any good or did he get a knock? Seems strange regarding Griffiths thought it would have been a good opportunity for him to get a goal or 2 and some confidence going at this level. As for playing youngsters u make a good point there sensible but haters will be haters and nothing will change that.
Actually, a crowd of 5,300 was probably more than I expected under the circumstances! This is a rare thing to say, but commiserations to Portsmouth. They're more-or-less where we were a year ago, with a threadbare squad which led to us taking only 1 point from the first 9 games. On top of that, Sky is saying that their rescue bid has fallen through: http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/7990365/ Sky Sports reporting is so tabloid that I wouldn't really put much weight on that but it's not comfortable reading. At least we didn't start with a 10 point penalty......
One small plus for Portsmouth, assuming they don't fold....is that they are not in the bottom league with the threat of non-league next season,at the moment that probably is seen as a small consolation. If Argyle had not scored two late goals....the result would have seemed a bit too tight for comfort.......goal scoring in the league this season especially with Griffiths out for up to a month could be so important this early in the season, to build confidence and get a good start to the campaign.
