With Huddersfield not getting promoted again, would it be worth a try getting Jordan Rhodes back? He is a much better player and proven goal scorer( albeit at a lower level) than he was a couple of years ago.

I wouldn't have an issue with him coming back, apart from the fact he will cost more than we got for him.

The only doubt in my mind though is that he has not been mentioned in connection with many if any Championship/Premier League clubs, which given the goals he has scored is a surprise, is there something about him that suggests that he can't make the step up?

Wouldn't seem right paying more than we sold the guy for in the first place. In any event, after all the talk of needing a proven, 25 goal a season, knock your granny out of the way striker, I'm expecting more.

(Then again, if Clegg gets his way we'll sign someone cheap and cheerful before all else!)

I noticed he couldn't get in their team towards the end of the season.
Forget him and move on, i'm expecting more too.

In a word 'No'. Lets not go backwards. I think there is enough 'evidence' that at Championship level there is something missing and we need to be much more ambitious than this.

Didn't we sign Lisbie after he had scored 17 goals in the championship for a Colchester side that got relegated. All the signs pointed towards him being half decent. As for Rhodes, he's scored a few at that level but doesn't seem to have been an absolute worldy at that level. Last time we signed from league 1 was Sam Parkin and we all remember him being a stellar signing.

It was just a thought, I too am hoping for much better but quite honestly on the evidence so far( the Sharpe fiasco ) we are hardly taking the situation by the scruff of the neck are we ?

No FM, seemingly we are not exactly pushing on but, there again, perhaps there's some great stuff going on in the background and we will all be pleasantly surprised. (?)
