Yes, About 10-15 years the FA Cup lost it's appeal to me and especially when it's two big clubs contesting the final. It's like am watching a pre season friendly and not an FA Cup final, probably just me like but that's how I feel about it all.
Lost interest in the fa cup final years ago! Not watching it! Havnt watched one right through for about a decade! When teams would rather finish 4th than win the fa cup, thats when it lost its importance as a spectacle!
I remember when I was a kid and Cup final day was always a big occasion! The only other match played that day was the Scottish cup final. We had Norwich vs Arsenal play earlier plus a full football league fixture list. Its been totally spoilt for me. I honestly believe it would have been us playing today had we got past Everton!
Yes, there was a time I would NEVER miss watching the cup final. But, I don't bother these days. The magic has gone. It might be different of course if we have a Tyne Wear derby next year
The FA Cup is the most famous cup competition in the world which has been totally devalued in recent years by all the Premiership hype..This is just another example of this competion being put under attack, and all genuine football fans should back this competition to the hilt, to fight against our traditions being undermined..
Manchester Utd started its decline about 10 years ago when they pulled out to play in that world team championship tournament! That decision totally devalued the competition!
The FA did this so the England team can have more time together before the Euros. They then asked a selection of football fans (not me by the way and I doubt any on here) when they would like the Cup Final to start. Apparently most said 5:15 so they can get their games out of the way then watch it. However most of the PL games have been moved to tomorrow, there were only the League 1 (Ithink) games on today and play offs so what was the point? The FA are to blame for devaluing this competition over the years, Man Utd getting a by from the third round to play in the Super Duper cup or whatever it was called. Then changing the date from the first Saturday after the season ends to now, however they will no doubt point to Sky and blame them for this.
i prefer watching the lower league games when they're on! The quality might not be as good, but they can be more exciting!
I refused to watch this years cup final, first one I have missed since they were televised - bloody disgrace they moved the time for no good reason.
