I am... struggling to concentrate TBH. Got my prayer mat out, my lucky spiderman undies and a pile of beer tokens just waiting to be spent. Used to know a guy who got so nervous he would end up on a 48 hour bender before the game just to forget about his nerves.... until one day he was so knackered he fell asleep just before kick off and missed the 5-1.
Yes I'm bricking it. I never want the feelings I had under the fat geordie bastard again in my lifetime because of Bruce, Chopra and Clark I now hate all Geordies with a passion and think of them as devious underhanded bastards. Furthermore, I have took this to ridiculous levels I now hate Robson Green, Ant and Dec, Ross Noble, Sarah Millican, Tim Healy and if I even here a geordie accent in the ground I wish they would fck off and support Newcastle. I honestly think newcastle will win the game 4-1.
Haven't got a ticket, so it's the pub for me. There's one other SAFC fan in Caterham that I know about and he'll be in the Old Surrey Hounds 'n all, so we'll brick it together. This one's too tense to really enjoy, but that's what being a NE football fan is all about. If we were in it for the glory, we'd support Man U
Reminded me of Friends where Phoebe uses Ben to stalk Sting.'I'm calling the police.' 'The Police!!!' ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'm not yet feeling any nerves. Que sera sera.
Calmest I've ever been before a derby, probably because I'm in Spain & in the middle of organizing myself for my 3 months home, so busy as ****. I should imagine as soon as the plane wheels hit the tarmac at Ponteland I'll start ****ting myself though, but I will seek solace in pints that don't cost a fiver!
Am I the only one that thinks this is the most low key derby build up for some time? Whereas Bruce would hype it up to a bursting point, Martin has just been very casual. That I reckon, isnt by chance and like Keanes approach beforehand, Marty knows the importance of the fixture but is just very low key about its happening. Cool as ****. I think the Internationals have also played their part in that.
Totally agree mate mon is using a totally different tact to anything i can remember in a derby build up
I think the low key derby build up is partly down to both sets of fans watching a shower of ****e this season and not being particularly confident. In every game I can remember one side was far, far more confident than the other, last year it was us for the 1-1, you for the 0-1, the year before it was us for the 1-1 again and you for the 5-1, patter developing? The more confident team usually gets a result they don't want. So maybe with no one being confident for this game and expecting a bore, it's going to be a 5-5 thriller
I'm not very young and I have to agree with NQ. Big bang is hilarious whereas Friends is only slightly amusing.
