Anyone else remember the fanzine It's the Hope I Can't Stand ?

    Apologies if this has already been mentioned - I have problems today navigating beyond the first page of Sunderland-related threads - but Nic Wiseman, co-editor of ITHICS has written a decent piece about the fanzine, its birth and demise, at

    I did buy this fanzine once or twice and it was a canny read.

    Remember the name, will have to look amongst all the fanzines in the loft, to see if I actually have any. How long did this run for ?

    Just the 98-99 promotion season and halfway through the following season. The access they'd enjoyed in the Nationwide dried up completely in the Premier where, as I can testify, fanzines and fan sites are kept at arm's length.
