Part of my Friday morning ritual is to log on to the BBC, do the weekly news quiz (6/7 this week not bad) and then have a chuckle over Lawro's column, although sometimes becoming outraged with his punditry. I have no respect for him as a pundit but bizarrley not being able to whinge about him on a Friday morning has left a gap in my day. Anyone else feel the same?
I can't believe they stick by him for all these years. He's way off the mark, predictions wise (ask NCFC and QPRcelona fans about last season ) and there are much better pundits out there - Pat Nevin, Perry Groves and even Danny Mills spring to mind, who would bring a breath of fresh air to the proceedings.

I am of the opinion that the producers of Saturdays Match of the Day shoulfd be shot for making something that should be interesting to watch reduced to the blandest, dullest and most boring interpretation of a footballing event. I love the BBC but they are getting this programme seriously wrong with bad panelists giving descriptions of events only in a tired format. It is ****ing rubbish. I want to learn something when I listen to people, Dublin (I loved him here but all he does is describe what we can all see), Lawrenson and worst of all Shearer. I want to hear from foreign panellists who have no bias and can give an alternative view to the game. Something different.
I think everyone is missing the point about Lawro and MOTD. I've always seen MOTD as the BBC's latest cutting-edge comedy show (you know how they pride themselves on being "edgy", taking risks, and pushing the boundaries of taste for our benefit). It's just that they are so far ahead of us ordinary people with this one that we haven't cottoned on yet. Three of four more years of the same and we'll surely get there though.
