Swiss court have ruled in their favour today and UEFA are bound by Swiss law. UEFA might still ignore it and tell Sion to do one but that will have legal implications for them if they were to do that. Since we made a complete arse of it, this carry on and Arsenal v Dortmund tonight is the only fun I'll be getting from Europe so far, so I'm struggling to think of what I'd prefer here; Sellic get papped out after all their gloating about getting in through the back door and the Bocanegra affair where some sad bheggar(s) tried to stitch us up. UEFA having a very dangerous court case on their hands which will discredit them as the corrupt organisation that they are and leave them open for challenge in the future It's going to be one or the other, and its going to be messy....... please log in to view this image
Would they still bring their beachballs to Ibrox on Sunday if they get chucked out? Madrid, Turin and Rennes.....plenty of beaches near those places
Either way, I couldn't really give a ****! If Celtic stay in, I'll get a ticket package ... could be some good games. If they get papped out, fair enough ... back to watching ****ey SPL games!
Heard that they won their appeal but I'm sure UEFA will stick to their guns. That Sion chairman seems a looper so I'm sure he won't let it drop.
They haven't won their appeal. They got a court to agree with them that they should not have been thrown out of the Europa, but UEFA did not send anybody to the court to put their point across as the real appeal is being held by UEFA.
Wee minder is raging. Its a win win for us watching, either sellic or UEFA are gonnae get it. Which is nice. The corinthian spirit in me wants the best footballing team to go through, but the sicko in me wants UEFA to stick to their guns and leave sellic in there and endure a long, messy court case. They really have fucked it right up, and not for the first time. I wish we had the sack to stand up to them so well played Sion, in the courts and of course on the park
A swiss court in UEFA's jurisdiction have ordered them to reinstate Sion. It's just a waiting game now to see if UEFA bother listening or not. My gut feeling is that they wont and sellic will still be in, so we can enjoy UEFA getting their collective smelly arses presented to them through the courts
But it was an emergency court hearing that Sion got to try & help their appeal with UEFA. The courts decision is not final as it was Sions lawyer & representatives & the judges, nobody from UEFA was present. Not a clue what will happen. If UEFA had heard the case immediately after the first leg and pumped them out there would have been time for all these court hearings. Now fans have tickets and will be flying out today/tomorrow. Just think they've left it too late to change the tie........never know with UEFA though!
Remember those "pumped out of Europe twice before the weans went back" articles on 606 last year? Look at yeez nursing your piddly semis over a beaurocrat-fest
Sion congratulated the decision of the Swiss court on their official Twitter feed, remarking simply: "Madrid, Sion is coming". However, a report in Le Matin quoting sports lawyer Gregory Martinetti stressed the verdict in the Vaud court was not final. Martinetti explained that the super-provisionelle ruling is one granted in matters of urgency and was heard without evidence from the opposing party. The lawyer said that he failed to see what would prevent Sion from playing Atletico but that Uefa had still to make their arguments to the Swiss court. http://sport.stv.tv/football/scotti...uling-but-uefa-appeal-decision-still-pending/
Brum - If UEFA reject this decision then the case will have to go higher, and if they're stubborn enough it will go to the Swiss Supreme Court. Obviously civil disputes dont get solved within 2 days so UEFA have made a spectacular cunt of it. They should never have accepted Sion's squad list if this was their stance. Sion will give UEFA a bumming in the courts while sellic get their own rodgering by Atletico on Thursday.
I never removed your post. Your ramblings are amusing, the same as seeing a wee ned trying to square go a bouncer.
My understanding is that the Swiss FA approved the list based on the first court case, UEFA then warned Sion the courts judgement meant little to them & those players were not legible to play but Sion played them anyway. Based on that UEFA didn't accept the list. Forget about the teams involved here, if Sion win they set a precedent whereby teams are able to poach players from other teams without incurring a transfer ban. What should be the punishment?
Nope, you pretty much all used that as a get-out for a whole season. Celtic will be focusing on the league mainly this year anyway - the Europa League seems like a frivolity this season and it'd be no great miss if Sion were put back in. The nearest you'll get to Europe this year is pulling your puddings watching Sky News hoping Sion get back in
They did get a ban, although perhaps they assumed all the transfer window bans were to run concurrently
