I know, it's not even June yet and i'm pining for league action!! I miss the early part of the week debating last weekends results and performance. Then you enter the latter part of the week and plans for Saturday begin. I miss catching up with mates at the pub. The banter that goes with the pre match lubrication and also the crack shared with opposing fans. There is a certain respect between most fans of lower league clubs. It is kind of empathy, perhaps a realisation that whoever actually wins shouldn't brag too much becasue we will all be back, same time, same place, usually same league next year. The highs and lows (mostly lows last season). The exhiliration of scoring in the last minute to either win or rescue a game. It's the kind of thing that can make or break your weekend. When you look at it, it's like a drug or devout religion. We blindly follow, pay heavily (financially) for the privelege and feel the pain of loss or elation of victory personally. Things are even worse this close season. The initial feeling of elation that we may get our club back, but the concerns over ground ownership and the actual content of any deal. The worry about about how we can deal with costs bearing in mind the significant losses we have made over the past few years. Can we really get to a break even point? Then there is the lack of news about signings due to the transfer embargo. Watching the websites used to at least give me some feeling of excitement. Who would we sign next, who were we linked with. Bring on August when we can all go back, take our pews and worship the mighty god that is WWFC!
summed up in a nutshell there slasher. all i can say is at least there the euros/olympics this summer - nowhere near as good as having wwfc playing, but better than last summer!
