I've never cared. He's better off dead frankly.

I've long been past caring. He has been repeatedly helped over the years and has constantly chucked it back in people's faces. If he wants to drink himself to death I say let him.

Edit Sorry the first one got through, ****ed up on my end

Very sad. He was a naturally gifted player who just fell in with the wrong sort.

Not the brightest crayon in the box off the field but always harmless and taken advantage of.

I didn't even have to click on the link to see whom the article was about.

I remember seeing George Best a few times before his death looking very frail and, I am ashamed to say, that I had lost all sympathy for him too.

The sooner he stops blighting other people's lives the better now, including his own. He's in a state of perpetual torment.

His whole life has been wasted ,His best 'mate' sponged off him for years living off his glory and when he retired from footy set about using his money to buy flash cars ( he drives a merc with private plates) and all from being gazzas pal. At his core gazza is just a kid that fell in with the wrong crowd, but that crowd have leached everything from him until he is the way he is now. People say poor gazza it's such a shame, it is but should never have been he needed help from the start and never got it and now it is too late.

Falling in with the wrong crowd has is not, has not and never will be a credible excuse.

Probably not the best description, probably better to say people took advantage and he didn't realise what they were doing

Agreed it just daft now the public have always had a lot of sympathy for him but think those days are over. Tell you what though. England couldn't half do with a modern day gazza to come through. Minus the addiction to booze and donner kebabs of course.

The days of any sympathy have long gone. Help from many has resulted in it being flung back in their faces and I feel sorry for people like Gary Mabbutt who truly cared.
Unfortunately now Gazza is just a waste of space.

Sadly he's wasted a lot of people's time by throwing their help back in their faces. The guy really is just a waste of space now. He'll be on the news one day having been found dead after drinking himself into unconsciousness.

Whatever the f*** is wrong with him is clearly not going to be fixable. He might have been naive, unfortunate and left mercilessly, but that's no excuse for being an utter coward. And Gazza is about the biggest coward on the planet. He'll "face up" to his problems for a bit of attention, not with any serious intent of changing his ways.

I'm still all for helping him be a better person, but it doesn't need to be one of these smushy smushy nicey nice "let's love him through it". F***ing get a grip, let him grow a pair and give him the tough s*** attitude that'll hopefully save what's left of his life, that's my opinion.

There's no fairytale ending here for me. To me he's a jokey, laugh-a-minute, Geordie clown and I think those 'qualities' if you like, have got him off the hook over the years with his disgusting behaviour. Other players would never have gotten away with beating their wives, Ryan Giggs for example had an affair which by all means isn't a nice thing to do but because he's not a clown like Gazza, his 'crime' seems to be much worse judging by public perception of both players.

Let's hope he pulls through, miraculously. He's still a legend of the game and it would be a shame for him to go out like this.

Gazza was my footballing hero, one of us the most naturally talented British player England has seen for the last 30 yrs IMO.
Hate seeing him in this way and I fear it will not be to long till the news we all expect to happen, maybe then people will then show their really feelings for him.
I don't agree with what he has done of the field but as a footballer What a genius
