Villa beat Arsenal beat Spurs beat Swansea beat WBA beat ManU beat Fulham beat Stoke beat West Ham beat Cardiff beat Man City beat Everton beat Hull beat Norwich beat Southampton beat Liverpool beat Palace beat Sunderland beat Newcastle beat Chelsea beat Villa. And just 10 games gone. I think this is what makes the league the best.
I was at SB when Crewe Alexandra (92nd in the leagues) beat us in the cup! Plenty of boo-hooing , that day!
I guessed this came from Twitter and having looked at the link TheOXOCube posted I was right......"EPL"
Like it or not far more people call it the EPL than just the PL. That's what happens when you have billions of people all over the world watching and paying big to do so.
I call PL or BPL. But like CPofL said the Premier League is not the only PL in the world and others might refer to their native leagues as PL, I know in Nigeria the Nigerian Premier League was referred to as PL and we called the this one the EPL/BPL.
We identify as the Premier League though, not the English Premier League. The Scottish league for instance is actually called the Scottish Premier League so referring to it as such or as SPL makes sense. It's understandable when it's two people from outside of England talking of it and their own league is known as just the "Premier League" (though I would just refer to it as the English league), but when we're talking about our own league or when we already know which league you're inferring to there is no need to call it the EPL.
You seem to be making the assumption that everyone here is in England. I doubt that is true so to them it may be completely natural to say EPL and as we know there are far more Prem fans outside England than in it. Us as a club claim to have 3x's the entire England population as fans for instance.
I'm basing it on the fact that this is a UK site and we're currently on a Premier League club board and talking about the Premier League. If they are actual fans they would call it by its proper name. Also I don't think everyone who refers to it as the EPL lives in a country where their own league is called the "Premier League". I even know English fans who call it the "EPL".
