I was tempted to go to Thailand 2 years ago to see the lads in pre season. I've been to a couple. My most memorable being in Belgium in the year 2000 I think. I was at the ground when reidy got the beer chucked over him. Me and a couple pals checked into the hotel, to realise we were staying in the same hotel as the entire sunderland squad. It was quite surreal actually. We were staying on the same floor as them. We met the squad by walking past them ect in the hotel. Quinny and Philips were true gents, as were most of the team, apart from mickey gray who believed he was a superstar, very arrogant. Reid himself had time for everybody, and answered the phone to Sam alladace when we met him, and spoke about transfers with him ect. Was a great weekend, with Belgium being a lovely place also. Any of you lads got experiences to share whilst being away with the lads?
The infamous trip to thailand, me and gonads were planning a blast.. But just like the ream, it never happened,,,,good job though, at the time bardo would have been bummed of a katoey, larsson a soapy **** in a massage parlour, fletcher in jail for gobbing.
I had my flights booked for Thai the lot, arseholes, went Hing Kong instead, which is about the most boring place on earth after 3 days.... Went to Portugal, might go again this year still deciding, was good craic. Used to like the Irish tours but we knocked them on the head about 10 years ago.
Yeah it was a shame that mate. Was looking at flights myself. Annoyed when it didnt happen that's for sure.
