From what I have seen both these players cannot play together as they provide absolutely no support for our defence!Unless we are 4 or 5 goals up already one should stay on the bench. Both great going forward especially Carayol,unfortunately they leave any defensive duties down the flanks up to the other 2 midfielders which tends to leave space all over the park for the opposing team to exploit. We are much tighter as a side when we select 1 for the starting 11 from these two players. Last night once Anyinsah had been replaced and Zeb and Richards came on the game changed. Discuss COR
Agreed....and Carayol, Anyinsah and Zebroski all on at the same time is self-destruct! Like it or not Anyinsah and Zebroski (and sometimes Carayol) are used best as subs: and not just subs who warm the bench, but strategically used in the course of a match.
If one of them is playing upfront as a striker and one on the flank then ok but not if both are on the flank as niether of them like to do dirty stuff!!
To expensive having two players that are not traking back to help midfield or defence.Good point Pirate although I would have Cary on at the start as he terrorises the oppo defence. What about Harrold.............. COR
I like Harrold...but something's not quite right..I don't think he's fully fit. I'd always start with him, but be prepared to take him off the moment he becomes ineffectual.
last night we had carayol and anyinsah up front (according to the radio) so thats 2 wingers up front while a striker (zebs) on the bench. we had a left back (brown) playing in midfield and for all of the 1st half we played woodards who was limping for that half basically playing with 10 men while having no real strikers and playing a full back in midfield. im not complaining as season is dead, we wont go up or down and mcghee is trying things and he has had injuries to deal with as well. mcghee was looking forward to playing on northamptons pitch as its slick and would apparently suit our style hense why he started carayol and anyinsah up front. it didnt work. he changed things and we nearly had the come back. i do agree that carayol and anyinsah are lazy with defensive duties and if both played on wings then they both shouldnt play same time. but i agree with manga, if 1 is up front thrn it makes no difference. last night they both were up front. think we should not of let mcgleish go now.
One thing I do love about McGhee is he seems to have a plan B and C Buckle Trollop and all the others didn't.
Spot on Spunkster Also agree with CoR playing them both is a luxury we can't afford and as Capt said about McGleish I said that after the Macclesfiled game. We should have kept him here untill the end of the season. That aside we just need another 10 points and forget this season.
CJ We cannot afford to have two players that do not pull there weight unless they are smacking in 25 a season. Even Lambo used to track back and you watch Rooney..... so we need the striker to support at the very least the midfield. Ye Olde (I have been trying to forget this season for some time know) As we are currently averaging 1.20 points per game and sitting on 41Pts,I would rather see us pick min 15pts over the last 12 games.51 pts would leave us tight and squeeky bum time.
